Lately, I seriously think of investing in a solar water heater for the domestic hot water supply of my home.

The investment with all the accessories and put into operation amounts to $ 300. By making a simple calculation, the investment is depreciated within a year, perhaps one and a half years.
Apart from the fact that it seems a little unsightly, the investment seems to have no disadvantages. It's probably a matter of habit.

In the Mediterranean countries I've seen that all buildings are provided with such systems.

You could also have a look at a diy version. There are many youtube videos providing information. The easiest way I see is just to have a black hose coiled up.
Of course a ready made solution is a lot easier to use and it should be plug and play style.

This style also has the added advantage of being more sleek and less obtrusive looking as well as less expensive. You simply route the output back into your existing water heater.

We have solar water heaters in our building. They are certainly worth the investment, in terms of convenience and electricity bills in the long-term. Of course, you would also be doing your bit for the environment.

India is also developing these plants.
I like this post inspiring one ☝️

Looks like a good idea!
