Instagram will show users how long they've "wasted" using the mobile app

in technology •  6 years ago

The Instagram mobile app gets a new Usage Insights section where users can find statistics by showing how long they spent on the social network.

Hidden in the apples, the new feature was confirmed by Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom, talking about a "new set of tools that will help the Instagram community find out more" about time spent online.

The way in which this function is used and the nature of the information made available is not yet known, but the analysis made may be extremely useful to the administrators of Instagram, who find out how interested the users of the various products and the concerns they are have within the social network.

Leaving aside the information gathered about users, Instagram administrators only follow the footsteps of Google and Facebook, who have long used this practice to avoid suspicions about hidden information gathering and other uncomfortable questions about how to use this information .
