Finally, some japanese researchers have invented an invisibility cloak that the military is seriously considering.
Thank you Japan!
In 2006 a small team of researchers at Tokyo university in japan, came up with a pretty simplistic, but ingenious method to creating our first steps into invisibility technology. The method is, the back of the cloak projects what it sees onto the front in a live stream. Giving the illusion of invisibility.
Here is a video showing their invention. Pretty cool.
It has to be good if the military is thinking about incorporating it into their arsenal of tactics. Here is some CNN coverage on it. If the military backs this technology, there will be a ton of funds pumped in, causing leaps and bounds in innovation.
Real World Applications
Think about the real world applications of this technology. This could be applied to sorts of things, for example, (like they mentioned in the video above) imagine driving in a see-through car from the inside only, making it easier to see obstacles in the road. Not including the sheer novelty of witnessing this first hand.
Applying this to all forms of transportation would be wild! Planes, trains, boats, cars. We have an exciting future ahead of us once this stuff finally hits the masses. Just give it time. Its inevitable.
Houses would be another great example, imagine pressing a button, and a selected wall, or your entire house disappears from the inside only. That would be nuts!
The list goes on and on....
Negative aspects
When a brand new innovation comes along, there is always the possibility of it being used for unintended purposes. Some people will try to exploit this technology, and use its powers for bad. Like:
- Robbery
- Peeping Toms
- Murder
- Stealth
- Invisible drug deals. Haha
Of course this list goes on and on as well....
If we could some how manage it in a safe and beneficial way, that would be great.
Tell me your take on this. How do you feel about it?
Thanks for reading if you did! If you decide to resteem let me know and I will return the favor.
