In this post, "INTERNET JARGON 101: A CHEAT SHEET FOR NEWBIES ", we review what may seem to be common knowledge, but I can tell you it is not. I share some very common lexicon many take for granted. I cover twelve different, but commonly used terms like:
• URL
• Router
• Encryption
• IP address
• Spam
• …and more
The bottom line: We should always remember our audience when using ‘technical’ terminology. For those in the tech field and younger generations, it seems like a normal part of the language, but for those not in the field or raised with the Internet, it is an entirely different language.
