According to news out recently, Apple is launching a new Measure app in iOS 12 in the next few months that will let you measure anything with just your iPhone.
You will no longer have to go searching for a tape measure while hanging pictures or when trying to determine if a couch will fit through your door way!
You can even measure people!
Basically it works by pointing the camera at what you want to measure, clicking once, then pointing the camera at the other end of whatever you want to measure and it will tell you how far away those points are in a straight line.
The video above gives an example of exactly how that is done.
It may take some skill by the user to get exact measurements as the camera appears to be a bit shaky in some people's hands, which could affect the measurements.
Either way, this is an interesting idea and another way that technology is making our lives easier going forward.
