"Bus of the future" from China

in technology •  8 years ago

I saw on the news that China tested the first gantry bus TEB-1, which can pass other cars. Bus-portal length of 22 m, a width of 7.8 m and a height of 4.8 m was tested in Hebei province.

Look "bus of the future" from China in the photos.

The vehicle is designed in such a way that moves on two supports for which on the road equipped with special rails. This allows you to pass underneath two lanes of cars.

I.e., the movement of such a bus does not prevent the movement of vehicles. You do not have any dedicated bus lanes.

By the way, contains a miracle-the bus up to 300 people. But that's not all.

Thanks to the ability to connect a bunch of 4 buses, TEB-1s can carry up to 1,200 passengers.

Perhaps it will look like the buses of the future?

Austin, Tx needs these badly! We have a light rail but its nowhere near as cool as this and the fact that this doesn't affect traffic like a traditional bus does makes it amazing!
