New Technology MotoGP Spoils Honda Racer

in technology •  7 years ago

Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez agreed with the use of new MotoGP technology, virtual pit board. But the MotoGP racer from the LCR Honda team, Cal Crutchlow admitted to not like this latest innovation.

The workings of virtual pit board is arguably similar to a short message service (SMS) on a cell phone. The crew of each racer could send a short message on the rider's motor dashboard during the race.

This new rule has been given the green light by the MotoGP Safety Commission with several options already registered, such as a penalty or racer who will precede it. Each team can not as much as write as they like.

This technology can be used during the German MotoGP race, Sunday (2/7/2017). "I do not agree with this technology is not my choice," Crutchlow said in a high tone, as reported by Crash, Friday (6/30/2017).

"I've been complicated with the dashboard on our own bikes, we already have a lot of components on the dashboard, there are buttons, numbers, lap times, RPMs, up to shift light," said the MotoGP rider since 2011.

Can Cause Accidents

The 31-year-old said the virtual pit board could be a new problem in the MotoGP world. Crutchlow is worried there will be many accidents during the race.

"I do not know how to read messages (when in high speed). Hopefully not cause an accident because a racer saw the screen during the braking," said the MotoGP rider since 2011.
