I had a thought today whilst I was alone, not doing much. It comes to me like that sometimes. But I feel that once again we’re on the brink of something new in technology. There’s a growling underbelly of apps and services that seem to want to challenge those front runners that have been dominating the forefront of technology for years.
We’ve seen the rise of Steemit, for example. This has challenged the very essence of content marketing and social media. I hear that most large publications don’t pay for awesome content. And Facebook wants YOU to pay them for great exposure. I feel the grip of the media magnets are slowly and surely being chipped away at by smaller, and newer innovative projects. But that’s what you get when you keep asking for more.
I’ve been in the cryptocurrency game for a good few years now. I’m seeing the definite rise in strong, and potentially prosperous projects on the horizon. Only a year ago you could publish your two-bit half-baked project on bitcointalk and make a couple of thousand. Now? It looks like it’s becoming harder and harder to scam people as creative projects are raising the bar exponentially high. People want more. And so they should.
We’re now seeing the re-emergence of Virtual Reality, once a pipe dream in the 90’s, now become a visually immersive experience with a sensation depth of second to none. This will be the next new thing to hit mainstream, where VR will be a household item and not reserved for the privileged few. It’s something to hedge your bets on, anyway. It’s where I’ll be investing some of my money.
And then there’s the general Internet. Where people are taking to it in their droves. I remember a time when the Internet communication was reserved for business and the socially awkward. Not now. People are taking it to their droves and publishing content all over it. Brilliantly thought out and written blogs, beautiful artistry and photos, videos, and great design work. The artist is coming out in everyone. It’s lovely to see.
I’ve been keeping an eye on the robotics and AI industry. Whilst it has been amazing to see the advancements they have made, I still think they are a long way off anything of grandiose importance, we will see, though!
So I think in the next two or three years we’ll see a new era. An era where cryptocurrency will be far more mainstream than it is now. A web where advertisers and employers pay you through the nose for your content. After all, we are the content creators. Every last one of us. Who says our work isn’t valuable, right? And a VR sensation that will rock the world. To the core.
I think crypto has a way to go yet, but it will get there....sloooowly!

I keep saying: Cooperative Agorism.
Blockchains and related financial technologies are radical game changers. We are challenging the very notion that we actually need the state to provide those things it has traditionally provided us with --- no matter if we want those things or not, we are challenging the idea that they are the only ones that could do it.
This is our oppurtunity to change the world. If we are prepared to buckle down and just keep grinding, there will be a better future... and it will be in our life times!
