Quantum Technology - Intel

QuTech, the quantum research institute within the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and TNO.

The quantum computers with which one works in the Delft laboratories handle a maximum of 49 qubits.

The way to "control" the qubits is through microwaves using the properties of superposition, interlacing and interference.

Superposition: The qubits-quantum bits-the basic unit of information in quantum computing, allow quantum superposition, combination of both states. That is, their status can be 1, 0 or both at the same time.

Interlacing: "It means that each qubit can not be described independently, but there is a correlation between them"

Interference: quantum computing analyzes all possible scenarios at the same time to provide the optimum, applying logarithms to eliminate noise during the analysis and discard scenarios, "

In a quantum computer we do not have memory, nor hard disk. We only have a processor to which the microwave signals needed to manage the states of the qubits are sent.

This quantum computer works at 20 milikelvin (about -273 degrees Celsius).

It can serve to give a boost to artificial intelligence and machine learning. "In order for artificial intelligence to be able to learn, it will be necessary to generate a much more powerful computer to analyze big data. It is essential to use quantum computers to enhance this technology, because they can analyze large databases much more efficiently "

One of the implications of quantum computing is its ability to undo the encryption of data, since this encryption was designed to avoid being solved by traditional computers. "It puts at risk one of the pillars of blockchain technology: its encryption. There are already research teams working on the encryption of data that is immune to quantum computing.
