Yes! The most popular search engine in the world has all of your information, at every moment, even if you live alone…
The first sentence in Google's big terms and conditions is - "Trust us about your information which we collect when you using Google's service." But did you know that Google has given the option to delete all this information that Google has collected? There is an option to destroy all information stored in Google's 'My activity'.
How can it be done? Here are some tips…
1. 'My Activity'
Every Google search you do is connected to your Google Account. Not only this, but all of your activity on Google is peaked, whether it is an email seen on Gmail or a form filled in Google Forms! All that information is stored in the folder called 'My Activity' and can be deleted from there.
- Search for my activity on google and then sign in (in case you are not signed in).
There is an option to look for information on a date-wise. You can delete all the information or even remove any specific information. - There are also 'All products' and 'All time' options to destroy information. Once you have opted for these options, a warning indicating what will be the impact of it will be reflected on your screen by Google.
- Actually, your google account or application which you are using through this account will not affected by deleting Search History or Google's browsing history.
2. How to destroy information that advertisers have?
Google keeps your information and based on that info they shows you advertisements on the websites you are browsing. This means that the ads appearing on their website are determined by what you searched, saw or did. That's why you start seeing relevant ads or browsing similar ads. But do not worry! You can find out exactly what information Google gave to advertisers.
- log in to your Google account and go to the 'Personal info & privacy' section.
- After reaching there, choose the option of 'Ads Settings' and go to 'Manage Ads Settings'.
- In it, the 'Ads personalization' option will appear. If it is "Deactivate", then ads will stop running based on your internet browsing.
3. Delete information on YouTube
YouTube is the world's largest video streaming site. There is no popular video in the world which is not on YouTube, it only takes you to search. Google also looks at what you search on YouTube and what you see. But the information can be deleted.
- When you're on YouTube, click on 'History' in the menu on the left hand side. Select 'Clear all search history' and 'Clear watch history' option in it. You can find out all the information and delete specific information and search.
4. Delete Google Location History
- To delete this information on Google Map, you have to turn off Location Tracking button when you go on that page.
- Open google map page, in the menu on left hand side Select your location option.
- Set a time period to view — (i.e. up to 30 days at a time.)
- Select the period you want to delete.
- Click the 'Delete history from this time period' link on the left side of this page.
If you are using an Android phone, Google also stores your location.
