Nowadays it is customary to call technology everything related to advances in computing, telephony, robotics, improvements to vehicles, many people when they outline the term technology do not really understand what it is.
What is technology?
According to the Dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy, technology is defined as a "set of theories and techniques that allow the practical use of scientific knowledge."
The Web site Wikipedia indicates that technology "is the science applied to the resolution of concrete problems. It constitutes a set of scientifically ordered knowledge that allows us to design and create goods or services that facilitate adaptation to the environment and the satisfaction of the essential needs and desires of humanity".
Etymologically the concept "technology" is composed of two Greek words, "techno" which means art, technique or trade, which can be translated as skill and "logo" (logía) which means study of something.
Starting from the previous definitions, it can be said that technology is the study that is responsible for devising the necessary tools to carry out the work efficiently. These tools are usually given the name of goods and services.
A computer, a car, an airplane, mobile phone, communication services, electricity, doctors, among others, are in essence the results of applying technology as a science. Each of these goods and services satisfy a need, that is, they solve a problem in the most efficient way possible.
For example, a computer is designed and built with the purpose of making complex calculations in the shortest time possible, thus increasing work performance. Imagine a world in which you have to go from Los Angeles in the United States, to Barcelona in Spain, if there is no airplane and other means of transport such as the personal car or boats.
You can conceive a world without electricity or without telephone communications. That would be personal health without the tools designed and created for the identification, diagnosis and cure of diseases.

It is so that technology is not reduced to only computers, process chips, when we talk about technology, we talk about everything that is devised by man that allows us access to the transformation of the elements found in nature, which allow us to adapt it and so solve problems.
Is the technology good or bad?
All knowledge requires a great responsibility, when technology is used to transform and adapt indiscriminately and without planning the environment, it can cause the depletion of the material and energy resources necessary for the survival of the species.
This results in social inequalities, with all the problems that this entails, for example, famine, lack of drinking water, and other problems related to social psychology, such as the increase in crime rates.
However, there are examples in which technology has made rational use of resources, raising the quality of life of millions of people on the planet and even achieving greater and better conservation of the environment. The technological means used are generally linked to the recycling of materials or the use of clean and renewable energies.
