Seorang pengusaha makanan ringan sedang menghadapi masalah dalam usaha yang sedang dia tekuni selama ini, makanan yang diproduksi oleh pengusaha tersebut dikemas dalam bentuk bungkus, makanan ringan ini kerap mendapat protes dari konsumen, karena banyak bungkus kosang yang diterselip diantara bungkusan yang ada isinya.....
Tentunya ini menjadi sebuah masalah besar bagi pengusaha makanan ringan tersebut, baginya agak sulit membedakan mana bungkus yang terisi dan mana yang belum terisi karena makanan ringan tersebut diproduksi dalam jumlah banyak setiap hari.
Untuk mengatasi masalah yang sedang dihadapi, maka pengusaha tersebut mendatangi beberapa orang pintar (baca: konsultan), pengusaha tersebut berharap kepada para konsultan untuk dapat mencarikan solusi terhadap masalah yang sedang dihadapi dan mendemontrasikan cara-cara mengatasinya.
Konsultan pertama memberikan solusi bahwa semua makanan ringan yang sudah dibungkus harus melewati mesin sensor, bungkus yang sudah terisi makanan ringan secara otomatis akan melewati sensor tersebut sedangkan mesin sensor akan membuang bungkos kosong, proses ini memakan waktu lama dan tentunya harga mesinnya pun tentu sangat mahal, untuk seorang pengusaha kecil tentu akan memikir berkali-kali untuk memiliki mesin itu karena modal yang dimiliki saat ini sangat minim.
Konsultan kedua menyarankan kepada pengusaha tersebut untuk membeli mesin penghitung berat barang, dimana semua makanan yang telah dikemas akan melewati mesin pengecek berat, secara otomatis mesin tersebut akan membuang kemasan kosong sedangkan bungkus yang ada isinya akan lulus uji berat barang.
Ini merupakan solusi yang sangat bagus tepat sasaran tetapi harga mesin ini sangat mahal, untuk memiliki tehnologi canggih ini tentu sipengusaha harus berfikir beribu kali. Secara tehnologi kedua solusi ini adalah sama, metodenya saja yang membedakan kedua tehnogi tersebut.
Konsultan ketiga bisa dikatakan tidak terlalu menguasai tehnologi canggih seperti dua orang konsultan sebelumnya, dia memberika solusi terhadap pengusaha makanan ringan yang sedang menghadapi masalah besar, untuk mengatasi masalah tersebu, dia tawarkan tehnogi sederhana dan tidak memerlukan atau mengeluarkan banyak biaya, mesin yang membawa bungkus makanan ringan harus melewati kipas angin, jika bungkus tersebut ada isinya tentu saja akan berat dan tidak akan terbawa oleh angin yang dihasilkan dari kipas angin, namun bila bungkus tersebut masih kosong secara otomatis akan terbawa oleh angin yang dihasilkan oleh kipas angin yang telah dinyalakan.
Cara inilah yang didemontrasikan dihadapan pengusaha makan ringan dengan hanya menggunakan tehnologi seadanya, bagi sebahagian orang cara seperti ini dianggap cara yang bodoh, tetapi ini adalah solusi tepat guna dan tidak memerlukan modal banyak untuk membeli kipas angin, alhasil, untuk mengatasi masalah yang sedang dihadapi, pengusaha makan ringan tanpa berfikir panjang memilih solusi dari konsultan yang ketiga.
Cerita tersebut diatas dapat kita ambil sebuah pembelajaran bahwa pilihlah aplikasi tehnologi sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan tepat guna, tidak perlu tehnologi yang “wah” sementara tehnologi “apa adanya” sangat bermamfaat dan tidak membutuhkan banyak uang
