With the release of android versoin 8.1 Oreo, Google also introduced a new operating system for budget smartphones. Which will be a lighter firmware and will use less ram and memory so it will be much more responsive on low end processors and lesser rams.
According to reports it will even work on devices which only have 512 mbs of ram. And it is half in size than the regular Firmware. So phones with less storage will have more storage out of the box for apps and media.
And the apps will also be less in size compare to the regular oreo Firmware.
Right now Google plans to introduce this firmware in india which is a huge market for low or mid range devices. More than 1 Billion people in India uses smartphones. Google plans to launch the new firmware in coming weeks.
