Facial Recognition Technology refers to the fastest biometric and least intrusive technology. It works well with the human face, being what it most obviously identifies individually.
With this kind of technology, people are not required to place their hands on a particular reader. Placing of a hands-on reader may not be acceptable in some cultures, and it is also considered as a source of transferring illness. Systems of face recognition take pictures of individuals’ faces unobtrusively as they enter a particular defined area. There is no delay or intrusion, and mostly, the subjects are at times unaware of any ongoing process. They rarely feel the aspect of "under surveillance", they also don’t realize that there has been an invasion of their privacy.

The Technology Used

A digital video camera is used in facial recognition for analyzing the unique characteristics of an individual’s face images. It entails the overall structure of The face, including the distance separating the jaw edges, mouth, nose, and eyes. All These measurements are well conserved in a database and utilized for comparing when a user appears before this camera. This biometric technology has been touted as the most fantastic system used in the recognition of potential threats (Regardless of whether it’s a known criminal, terrorist, or scam artist). As of now, this has been a low acceptance of a high-level usage. It has been forecasted that the fingerprint biometrics may soon be overtaken by Biometric facial recognition Technology as the most famous form of authenticating users.

Each and Every face has many, visible landmarks, the valleys, and peaks that makeup features of the face. Each human face consists of 80- nodal points. Those measured by Facial Recognition Technology include the following:
• Nose Width
• A distance between the eyes
• The depth of the sockets
• The jawline length.
• The shape of the cheekbones
These points when measured create a numerical code, known as a face print, which represents the face in a database.
