It is the future of communication to give commands to electronic devices, without making any sounds at all. Everything points to the fact that she has already arrived. Engineers from MIT have just presented a very interesting device called AlterEgo. It serves to read "human thoughts" and transform them into specific commands.
The headset consists of two parts. The larger one is placed on the ear and the smaller one under the mouth, thanks to which it adheres to the jaw. The device is equipped with a set of sensors for bone conduction. His task is to track neuromuscular movements and to exchange this information for commands.
AlterEgo cares about our privacy in a sensational way. It works on a very simple principle. All we need to do is think about something and the device it is connected to will perform our command.
At the moment the headset can recognize 20 words. He was tested on 10 volunteers who spent 15 minutes with him. The command recognition rate was 92 percent, so we can talk about the high practicality of a device that looks like an ordinary piece of plastic.
AlterEgo will significantly expand our boundaries of interaction with electronic devices. You can even be tempted to say that in a sense it makes its users cyborgs.
