The EU has banned the use of pesticides that kill bees en masse

The European Union has debated in this matter for a long time, and now its authorities have finally banned the use of dangerous neonicotinoids throughout the Community. There are three measures here, namely: thiamethoxane, imidacloprid and clothianidin.
The EU recognized that they are extremely harmful not only to pollinators but also to birds and other animals. Although the new regulations were adopted last month, biochemical concerns such as German Bayer, Swiss Syngenta and Japanese Takeda appealed to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
He disappointed them very much because he upheld the ban. The new provisions will come into force at the end of this year. The above measures will be applicable only in greenhouses, so that they do not affect, among others, insects.

Let us remind you that last year an independent team of scientists conducted research on dozens of arable fields in Great Britain, Germany and Hungary, where neonicotinoids were used. Experiments have shown their harmful effect on insects.
The GreenPeace organization also drove the last nail into the Bayer, Syngenta and Takeda coffins. Its members came into possession of documents that clearly showed that these concerns were aware of the harmfulness of the pesticides they produced, but remained silent about it for years.
