Solar paint
The gel present in the solar varnish is synthetic molybdenum sulphide. From the Australian university they explain that this material acts as a semi-conductor of energy and also promotes the splitting of the atoms of water into hydrogen and oxygen. Researcher Torben Daeneke explains that in order to attract sunlight, and thus exploit this kind of energy, besides humidity, titanium oxide has also been added to the dye. It is the same compound currently used in white exterior paintings. This means that the new sunscreen can be used comfortably in place of current dyes for homes and offices. "The basic aspect of this discovery - says Daeneke - is that to work the paint does not need clean water or nearby basins. Any area in the world with a high humidity can be fine. " The researcher concluded the presentation of the discovery by saying that it will take about five years to market this new solar paint.
