It is certainly a controversial claim at this moment. Machine general intelligence is what strong A.I. is aiming for. It is certain not against any fundamental laws of physics. If you look deep down, human brain is merely a molecular machine, operating on fundamental physical and chemical principles. I am going to post more in depth on this topic.
