Facebook users are in a frenzy after many attempted to log on today only to find the site is down.
The outage appears to have affected users around the world, with thousands of reports within the first hour.

Frustrated Facebook users took Twitter to express their gripes - but after a few hours of troubles, it appears the site is finally up and running again for most.
A live outage map shows outage hotspots across the United States, with the northeast hit particularly hard. Facebook is also down for users along the West Coast, in Mexico, and in parts of South America.
According to DownDetector, the issue appears to have started just before 1 p.m. (ET).
And, it's not isolated.
