Machines have met and surpassed our performance in many tasks. Syststems based on arifical intelligence are faster, more accurate, more efficient but they are not error free and what is most important they are not free of prejudice.
You saw a perfect job offer and sent your resume but reply never came? You filled on-line credit application and company offered you very bad terms? It is not fault of mean employee who recived your application, it is very probably that algorithm based on artifical intelligence stands in the first line.
In 2018 Amazon stopped using AI based systems for recuiting employees
And that happend because mentioned systems discriminated against white women. To make artifical system intelligent you have to "learn" it how to decide what meet your expectations. To teach their system Amazon used all resumes that they recived and they were comapring them with actually hired employees. Because most of the IT employees are men system was biased.
According to the IBM reaserch reports very soon almost everyone will have contact with AI based systems. That's why important to create prejudice free more trusted AI systems
AI that can truly think or learn is still a great future for us and it will not come fast. Despite all the problems AI market is growing 30% year over year and it will be worth over 190 billion USD by 2025.
