Eventful evening on amateur radio - My first contact with Fanø Island, Denmark (2017.09.14)
Beside helping maintaining your language knowledge and learning languages, amateur radio can also help you to learn geography.
Tonight I made a contact with an Island and I have never heard about that Island before.
I turned on my radio tonight and I started to call CQ (general call) on 7120 kHz.
You never know who will come back to your call and from where.
The propagation is very good tonight and a lot of stations are active on 7 MHz.
Tonight I made contacts with 9 stations on 7 MHz so far. One of them is OZ/DL4LBK. The time was 20:47 UTC (22:47 CET).
He is a German person from Fanø Island, Denmark. He is on holiday on the Danish Island.
I have never heard about that Island before. So I used the Google to get some information about it.
"Fanø is a Danish island in the North Sea off the coast of southwestern Denmark, and is the very northernmost of the Danish Wadden Sea Islands." - Fanø - Wikipedia.
Thank you for reading!
Enjoy Steemit!
Have a nice day!
