Rosneft in the middle of March officially announced the introduction of the generating infrastructure using renewable energy sources at remote sites of the company.
In March it was known that within the framework of the strategic development program of Rosneft until 2022, it is planned to create several objects of generating infrastructure applying renewable energy sources.
It is planned that in the next few years, such facilities (mainly wind power plants and solar parks) will appear in remote and inaccessible areas of the company , where it is not economically feasible and sometimes even impossible to supply electricity.
Expanding the use of “green” energy at the company’s oil and gas production facilities will allow it to reduce its harmful influence on the environment and reduce the carbon wastes from its activities in the regions of its operation.
It is expected that the total investment in the introduction of new renewable infrastructure facilities can reach 500 million rubles.
