A subsidiary of the French Corporation Total (Saft) may start cooperation with Yakutia in the field of renewable energy.
Saft specializes in the producing of power plants using renewable sources, where the uninterrupted supply of electricity is ensured by the use of high-capacity batteries.
Such solutions can be useful for the purposes of Autonomous generation in remote areas of Yakutia, which, among other things, faces the task of optimizing small-scale energy in order to increase its efficiency and environmental friendliness.
Such a task was given to the authorities of the Republic in 2011, and since that time impressive results were achieved, so that the consumption of diesel fuel for local generation has been reduced by half. However, further improvement of indicators is no longer possible without the use of high-tech innovative solutions.
Autonomous hybrid power plants from Saft may become such a solution. At the moment, Total and the government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) are negotiating to assess the potential of future cooperation.
