YouTube is experimenting with a new feature called 'Xplore' to help users find their favorite channels and videos. Users browsing mobile phones will be shown their favorite videos and channels based on their search history while browsing.
Tom Leeung, managing director of YouTube's creator inadera, said: "Xploos will help you look at different topics, videos and channels." These are based on user video viewing activity, the company said.
According to the IANS report, the 'Xploos' tab can be seen under the YouTube app for one percent of the iPhone users.
This feature will be brought with a shelf named Trending Shelf's 'Creators on the Rise' already in place. The new Shelf called 'Creators on the Rise' will give users the opportunity to expand their audience.
Liang did not say whether this test will be done in the Android app.
Picture sharing app in Facebook under Instagram also has a similar tab named 'Xplore'.
