Don Luis Zambrano, the most important popular technologist in Venezuela
The only peasant with calloused hands of the American continent who has been conferred the title DOCTOR HONORIS CAUSA in the (U.L.A-1984), born in Mesa Village of Adrian, Dancers, Rivas Dávila Municipality of the Bolivarian State of Mérida on May 01, 1901
He was a popular technologist inventor from the state of Merida, Venezuela. He studied up to 4th grade of primary school. Innovative technologist and self-taught popular inventor. He was a genius of mechanics. more than 50 inventions, some commissioned, such as the strawberry peeling machine, as well as a screen for sorting garlic and multiple innovations to various machines, despite the great limitation that meant losing the right hand, accidentally cut by a saw in 1977
First with electricity in Bailadores municipality rivas Dávila state Mérida
He developed the famous turbines moved by water. Some of these turbines were used to generate electricity, or to move the mechanical instruments of a carpentry, such as a lathe. His house was the first one in the mocotíes valley to be illuminated by electric light generated by a turbine made by himself, long before the national national power company of CADAFE arrived. For this reason, its electricity generating plants operated or moved by waterfalls were and are very useful to many villages and hamlets of the Andean mountain range.
In 1933, when the electric service arrived at Bailadores Rivas dávila, Luis Zambrano had already built 3 electric sugar mills to grind sugar cane.
In 1950, in the town of Canaguá, installed a turbine moved by water, which provided electricity to this community until 1978.
In the same way, the Merida towns such as Mucuchachí, San José de Acequias, Río Negro and San Antonio de Estanques, among many others, took advantage of these turbines.
In November 1984, the University of the Andes ULA granted him the title of Doctor Honoris Causa "for his useful creative work", a recognition obtained that was granted for the first time to a man from the countryside. He was declared an illustrious son of Dancers and his name is now in streets, museums, Institutes, Thermoelectric.
Inventions built by Don Luis Zambrano
1-Independently discovered the relationship between the circumference and its diameter, ie the value of PI.
2-Generator of 600 amps, used as welder of rods of 3/8, in 1939;
3-Large lathe of 13 types of different precision threads;
4-Strawberry peeler;
5- Smelting with its respective furnace, in 1948;
6- 20 Turbines used in villages, hamlets and haciendas to generate electricity that allows milling cane, threshing coffee and other grains
7- Coffee dryers;
8- manure eraser for fertilizer;
9- Double effect turbine with 4 outputs with zero axial effect;
10- 3 forklift cable cars with their turbines and a capacity to transport half a ton and a journey of half a kilometer;
11- Garlic sorting, cleaning and sieving machine with capacity for 1,400 kg per hour, which earned him public recognition by the Municipal Council of Dancers, in 1980;
12- Grain grinding bicycle and
13- Vertical drill with the adaptation of a 1,924 car engine.
14- Reaction turbine, which he called "Turbozám" (for "turbine" and "Zambrano") or "criollo engine", as some called it. A conventional engine has multiple pieces, Turbozám only had approx. 20 with only 1 spark plug and only one camera where the 4 times were generated. It does not have connecting rods, pistons, camshafts, valves, carburetors or crankshafts. (1950)
15- Sponsor the 8th. Promotion of Industrial Engineers of the UNET.
Don Luis Zambrano: Inventor of the town for the people (Documentary)
Motivated by the circumstances of the moment and the shortage of spare parts that lived in Venezuela at the time of World War II, Don Luis Zambrano 1901-1990 develops a rotary internal combustion engine that beats the performance of common or conventional engines, decreasing considerably the quantity of pieces. The functionality of the same was demonstrated in several postgraduate, master's and doctoral studies in the most illustrious and prestigious universities of the country.
Zambrano, died in the city of Mérida, on August 15, 1990.
