The suitcase technological world

 "The first intelligent and connected suitcase". With this brief claim the BlueSmart project was presented on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo end of 2014. The proposal was a success, getting the support of nearly 11,000 people who helped raise more than two million dollars made viable draft.  BlueSmart One is the result of this initiative: a suitcase with the standard size of cabin baggage that has a set of features never before exhibited a fixture of this type. So, it closes and opens from mobile, weighing its contents, functions as an external battery to charge other devices and includes a tracking system. The price? High, because to be a unit has to be paid no less than $ 550. 

 
Like any connected device, it is mandatory to use with a smartphone and an application that connects via Bluetooth. Linking is very simple and just accept that the app send notifications and create a user account. This application is free and compatible with IOS and Android devices, but is not available in Spanish.  From her all the possibilities of the case are centralized. One of the main ones is the location: you have a GPS module that provides access to its exact location within a map. The information provided is fairly reliable, although it is necessary that the smartphone is connected to the Internet to consult. This function is closely related to other security options, such as activation of an alert when you separate yourself from the suitcase, which is ideal in case of theft and oversights.  You can also control their weight thanks to an integrated scale inside: the suitcase is placed on a flat surface and the instructions on the app, which is limited to lifting it from the handle and hold it upright for a few seconds followed. This feature is very useful considering that many airlines set a weight limit for luggage cabin that around 10 kilograms. And it is easy to reach and even surpass them, since itself weighs more than 4 kilos.  On the other hand, a remote locking allows open and close through the app. In addition, you can configure the automatic operation of this provision, so that opening and closing are linked to the proximity of the user. Of course, BlueSmart comes with a set of keys that become necessary when the battery runs out. In this sense, it is equipped with an internal unit of 10,400 mAh which is used to provide power to the Bluetooth module and GPS. The approximate autonomy is one month at rest; a state in which enters at 5 minutes to disconnect the phone. To turn it off altogether necessary to resort to the application or to a physical button hidden inside, beneath the fabric.
