The fuq is this world coming to?

Kelli Jean Drinkwater engages in radical body politics. She confronts the public's perception of bigger bodies by bringing them into spaces that were once off limits. Like the doctors. Because for a doctor to say u need to lose some weight that's fat shaming. -smh-

TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes.

I understood why they begun this movement, having had a few extra pounds I know how harsh people can be. Sometimes people being mean can make someone depressed which doesn't generally help them lose weight. They don't even want to go out because people will give them all those stares and call them names, how are they supposed to lose weight if they don't go out?

By the same token, it was in a way people bringing my weight to attention which at times encouraged me to change that. There have been times in my life, not just with this subject, that the raw truth has helped me.

I noticed how pictures of morbidly obese people (women) were being advertised as beautiful. While I can see the intention in this propaganda, intention does not equal impact. When I begun to argue for the medical responsibility, the impact of overconsumption in coexistence, management of spaces, ect. They accused me of fat shaming, when all I was doing was helping create conversation around the subject they supposedly wanted people talking about. It seems they don't want fatness being correlated with decaying health and that's just irresponsible.

I kept trying to tell them, that even though I don't like people telling me cigarettes are bad for me that I don't get to become upset because they are after all telling me the truth. It didn't take long before I started getting banned. What shocked me most was that I was being banned from LGBT pages over something that is not even related to what the page does and without insulting anyone. This movement is what begun opening my eyes to the takeover of certain subjects/groups online.

I dont agree with actual fat shaming but it is becoming that anything said that is not fat positive is considered shaming now. The idea that a doctor telling someone they should lose a couple extra pounds is considered shaming blows my mind. I 100% agree with the example of cigarettes. Of corse the doctor is going to tell you that it would be better to stop smoking, lose weight, eat healthy, work out, stop drinking ect.
I also see a huge difference in shaming someone and actually voicing ones concern.
Sux u got banned of something as stupid as voicing an opinion, seems to be the way things are going more and more now days.
Thanks for the comment.

well said!
The raw truth will help most people simply because we make excuses for our actions.
"Its not my fault" / "I am this way because..."
The Hard truth strips a person from there excuses and makes them realize the things they so desperately don't want to - "It is my fault"

invasion of the humunguloids.

this is an example of why i am against the unaffordable healthcare act mandate.

Bruh look at my most recent post.
