I have been getting super stressed out because I have a 13 year old brother and everyday when he gets home from school he squeals at the t.v. and jumps so much the whole house shakes. He continually makes reference to memes saying things like "U mad bro" when he sees me start to get annoyed or "get rekt" when I ask him to stop. He has told me that he will respond nicely and stop misbehaving if I ask nicely for him to stop but when I say "will you please stop screeching at the tv" in a nice tone, instead of stopping he responds to me with witty comments like "you have to say pretty please with a cherry on top." He eggs people on and stresses out everyone in the house and I am leaving in about 3 months when I graduate and leave for work but I am in desperate need for a solution until this happens, anything will help, I would love advice from parents who have dealt with this before.
Parents! How do I deal with a 13 year old boy?

Hi, Hazel,
I would recommend that, as much as possible, you ignore him when he is egging you on.
Then, at other times when he is being good, try to say nice things to him and/or to initiate doing something that you know he likes - for example, offer to play a game with him or take a walk, or whatever you know he enjoys.
If you can manage that, you will reinforce his good behavior and minimize the bad. I hope this works out for you!
If all else fails, escape to your room or some other quiet place... ;) Good luck!
😄😇😄
P.S. I'm a parent, grandparent, and great-grandparent.... ;)
