Telecommuting or Working remotely is the future and the future is now already as quite a number of teams have already incorporated that into their system.
It is a great idea as it gives more flexibility to the employees, helps him manage his time and gives him control over his work even though he still has to report to the management.
A lot of people, especially the up and coming generation would really love and prefer telecommuting to working 8 to 5 in a cubicle where he's not working the whole time.
It would help them engage in more side hustles or hobby which they can derive pleasure and satisfaction from.
It also makes it easier for them to transit from one job to another since they can control when and how they work.
The greatest problem of telecommuting being faced now and the most feared for the future is that, managements of firms would not trust their employees to work appropriately. They feel they'd be shortchanged if the employee does not get to work but gets paid.
This paranoia is one of the greatest setbacks that telecommuting would face but hopefully, with time, the fear will be dismembered, more firms would embrace it, employees would be more faithful and work for what they're being paid to do.
Agreed! Great answer.
