The most popular messaging app Telegram disappeared from the iOS App Store last Thursday and came back after few hours. There was no reason given for the remova,l but now things revealed that the app was removed for containing inappropriate content.
In a tweet Telegram founder Pavel Durov said, we got an alert from Apple that inappropriate content was made available to our users due to which apps were taken off the App Store. In addition to basic Telegram app, Telegram X was also taken down.
Though it is not yet clear that what was that inappropriate content, but some reports confirms that it was regarding child pornography. According to App Store manager Phil Schiller, we got an alert about illegal content, specifically child pornography. We had to verify the veracity of these claims and once we were sure about the issue we took immediate action to ban the users involved and pull the apps from the store until Telegram made fixes for such things to happen in future.
Wow
