I've heard probably hundreds of stories where races of other worlds speak telepathically, in fact I've pretty much only heard stories where they speak telepathically, almost never have I heard a story of them speaking in a funny language. I'm a pretty strong believer that we could also have this ability but since most of us don't believe we can we don't exercise the 'muscle' and hence can't, which re-enforces the belief that we can't. A friend of mine also told me that while on LSD she could speak to her friend telepathically.
