WHY WASTE YOUR WITNESS VOTE, GUIDE TOWARDS VOTING WISELY

Hi steemians,

Many steemians without doubt are new to crypto, blockchain technology as a whole before joining steemit . Just like when I started steemit few years back without are guide, just like a sheep without a shaperd. Many also join steemit in such a way without prior knowledge or guide towards how the platform and the blockchain works. More than 80% never go through the steemit whitepaper due to laziness and without a tutor.

This post is to expose every new steemians eyes to how they can utilize their witness vote for effective performance and outcome. @Steem-ninja just recorded a woofing 1000 new steem account open, that's amazing but without a guide towards how the community work is work incomplete or in progress. I strongly believe that many red fish and plankton haven't heard about what witness vote is all about or do not really understand what it is all about. Enlightenment is then the way out which this post is here to clear.

WHO IS A STEEM WITNESS

The steem blockchain requires a set of people to create blocks and use a consensus mechanism called Delegated proof of stake, or Dpos by @steemitguide

Note:This witnesses help create blocks, solve algorithms, validates transactions and help the steem community. This are little to what is excepted from every steem witness.

A witness can be liken to a miner in other blockchains like bitcoin, ethereum etc.

The "Delegated proof of stake" model of using witness instead miners allow for greater efficiency in block production. With btc, 100% of the new coin that are created are allocated to the block producer (miners) but with steem blockchain 10% of new coins are paid to block producers (witnesses) while 90% of the new coins are awarded to content producer, curators and steem power holders.

The steem witnesses are the life wire of the community as a whole. Steem claimed on post after payout are all the new coin created by the witness. They need your vote.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A WITNESS

To every job, there is a require equipment for the smooth running and efficiency. Becoming a witness, the following are required.

• Technical know-how / knowledge

• A computer to run, manage and update server

• Run a stable and reliable witness node for creating blocks and avoid missing blocks

• Publish the Steem-USD price daily

WHY VOTE FOR A WITNESS?

Because it cost you absolutely nothing...! Less than 5 minutes of your spare time is enough. Every steemians can cast a vote for maximum number of 30 witness. Many steemians aren't aware about this as a right and also a way to help support witnesses that have contributed immensely to the growth of the community. Why waste your witness vote by making it dormant and useless.

witness spend huge amount of money for running their server monthly, let go support their hard effort.

this is a great explanation of what a witness is, nice work indeed :-)

Thanks, I really appreciate your efforts

Thanks for supporting @steemcommunity, every vote counts :)

@c-squared, who are present in that list above are also a witness in the lower ranks that I value for the work they do.

The last paragraph, I would change the sentence not to include 'random' - these are manual selections that should come after a research period :)

Cheers!

OK, thanks for the info
