Rise of the minnows- The push for 10,000

The plan

To put it into an overall context, @steevc has set out an ambitious goal of getting us to 10,000 minnows by the end of the year. At the moment we have 9223 minnows on the blockchain but we want to see even more. That 500sp target is a significant milestone on the STEEM journey and one that we intend on getting a lot more people to. 250 more people to be exact, but that is just the initial goal.

Working with the amazing team of @paulag, @steevc @hitmeasap, @slobberchops, @cryptoandcoffee, @blanchy, and @pennsif I will do as much as I can to get these people over the line and hopefully lead to a better and stronger middle class of steemian in the future.

Step 1: 250 Minnows this month.

While this will be a long term project over all, the first stage will be to push a group of red fish that are sitting on the threshold of minnowhood. From the figures of @paulag we have gotten a large sample group and will hopefully be able to get them to commit to our vision and make the next step to reaching 500SP.

All I need now is commitment from them and a little help from you and we can get them there.

This means that they write a little post to say that they want to get involved using the tag #tenkminnows, commit to power up all the SP earned during the month and to growing their account. This is a huge opportunity to get their account seen and one which I wish was offered to me as I struggled my way to minnow. All I can do is offer the chance and hope that they take it.

Step 2: The next wave.

If you are a Redfish (50 to 500SP) and haven't been contacted, don't worry. This is just the initial phase of a larger project to reach #tenkminnows over the course of the year.

I personally feel that it's possible for anybody to reach minnowhood by the end of the year and will help anybody who is interested in growing their account to get there. If you are in that category leave me a comment so that I know who you are and can get back to you.

A lot of success comes from doing the simple things right. It takes time and effort to build up a following and grow your circle but there are ways to work smarter towards your goal.

• Up-votes from apps.
• Earning STEEM from apps.
• Competitions to win prizes.
• Joining suitable groups.
• Engage,Engage and Engage.

Let's get involved.

People are what drive this whole place. People are what make it special but we are not holding onto enough of them. A lot of that comes down to them not being seen and that problem lies on both sides. If we are to grow this place into the success and vision that we all want it to be then these people will be the foundation of that.

I hope that you can get on board and help us to support these smaller accounts that can often be overlooked. This is just a statement post but I hope to see a lot of action from some of these accounts soon that we can support.
