2001 Wimbledon Men’s Final - Goran Ivanisevic vs Patrick Rafter

Despite having entered the tournament on a wild card, Goran Ivanisevic shaped up to win one of the greatest Grand Slam Finals on the Centre Court. Going up against Patrick Rafter who was an early favorite advancing into the final set, Ivanisevic won the five-set match and earned his first Wimbledon title after four attempts.

1992 French Open Finals - Monica Seles vs. Steffi Graf

The battle between two of the toughest women in tennis was by far one of the most monumental tournaments among all tennis matches. 18 year-old Seles was ranked no. 1 tennis player in the world who won nine of the Grand Slam titles she eventually earned, then facing 22 year-old Graf whose tennis career is decorated with 10 major titles.

1980 Wimbledon Men’s Final - Bjorn Borg vs John McEnroe

At the onset of the match, it seemed that Borg’s four-year reign at Wimbledon was nearing its end when McEnroe dominated the first set with powerful left serves. But it wasn’t until the second set when Borg finally found his range with blowing heavy passing shots. It turned out to become an intense match when it came to a tie-break where McEnroe had seven set points and Borg five more match points, four on his own serve.

2012 Australian Open Finals - Novak Djokovic vs. Rafael Nadal

This was the third straight Grand Slam final played by two of the strongest tennis players at the time. In a match that lasted for five hours and 53 minutes which is roughly an hour longer than the previous finals, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal’s duel was recorded as the longest finals match in tennis history played by the top two best tennis professionals in the world.
