Simona Halep won the first Grand Slam, after 3 finals at Roland Garros and 4th in the Grand Slam. She won the final vs Sloan Stevens with 3-6 6-4 6-1. The champion showed, she is a more complete tennis player and despite her setback, Simona retained her positive attitude, demonstrating tactical flexibility and much better tennis in the decisive part.
Congratulations to Halep! After so many efforts and lost finals, She deserved a title from the GS. Today, apart from a great game, She showed a strong spirit.Simona did not stop to be aggressive. This actually made a decisive impact, as Stevens failed to keep on the tempo with which She was running on the court at the start of the match.
Congratulations to Stevens for the great tournament! Less than a year after returning to the court, she has a title and a final today, and She is #4 in the ranking. If She increases her persistence, she can achieve more.
