I had the most amazing post set out in my head this afternoon, it was going to be a roaring rollercoaster of a post full of all the amazing people I have met on my journey through Steemit.....and then I had a look in the @welcomewagon Discord and found @twodorks my 100 Steem Power delegation winner had come up with an epic new challenge #tenrandomthings and I ended up spending most of the night reading the posts made for the challenge. And they are all amazing, I really enjoyed learning a little more about all the wonderful Steemians that have already used #tenrandomthings - join in and do your own post to it's a fun and creative way to make a post and make new friends along the way.

10 Random Things

So we better get started with my own random things, this is going to be...interesting

10 I'm a really shy guy

No I am, really - such an introvert. I prefer keeping myself to myself, but as I progressed through posting on Steemit it became obvious being noticed helps a great deal. So I pushed myself to be more...visible and join in the social side. I am still working on it but joining in voice chat shows in the various Discord servers helps alot - I still think I sound a bit silly to me but people are kind and tolerate me!

9 I studied Geography and Biology at University

Yes, I know a joint degree, it was at Keele in Staffordshire. And I made good use of that learning by selling coffee? I suppose not everything you learn has to be related to exactly what you do after it, life skills are something invaluable you can only learn through experience.

8 I'm really old

Well I think I am, all this cryptocurrency and blogging seems to be a "youth" concept and trying to keep up with all the whippersnappers wears me out quite often. I'm doing OK I think though, it takes me some time but I eventually get around a fair few people and posts and I try my best to be encouraging in my comments. I might not be up to the standard of these Top level Witnesses but what I lack in skill I make up for in determination.

7 I'm a Geek

I did try to make out in the 10 facts and One Lie challenge started by @traciyork I was a complete computer illiterate novice, which isn't too far removed from reality.. except I remember the days of BBC Basic, owning (I still have it actually) an Acorn Electron computer with 32kb of ram (yes watches even have more then that nowadays) which had a cassette tape drive to record or play back the programs on. I even typed in two full A4 pages out of magazines to make amazing programs on it like a dancing skeleton. Now I think of it that was more entertaining and less work then replaying the Blockchain 5 times in one week on my Witness Server.

6 I am obsessed with Jax Jones

I have to admit that young man plays the best uplifting house, I chanced upon him on a long drive from London back home doing a One Mix on Beats Radio - loved it made the drive fly by. Since then I keep checking out his set's, and this one from Tomorrowland in Belgium this year is just outstanding - and his Birthday too - 19 years old. My goodness.

5 I'm a nut addict

That's peanuts for anyone with a dirty mind, dry roasted, salted or just plain mixed nuts and raisins - I can't resist and have a tendency to binge once I start - which has unfortunate after effects in the days after..

4 I can cook!

I learned from a young age, mostly my Grandma because she looked after me while my mum worked but later in life from my mum too when she was well enough to. Now my Mum has passed away I try to keep the recipes she taught me alive in her memory, it's a little way of remembering her but simple meals like minced beef and dumplings were always a favourite so I try to do them for my family when I can.

3 Coffeea exists

So my mixed up account name c0ff33a has a good reason, which I covered in the #steemitnamechallenge by @felobtc . But basically in coffee plant terms you have the family Rubiacea, then the Genus coffeea and finally species Arabica which only grow at high altitudes, and Robusta which grows readily at lower altitudes because it is resilient from pest due to the high Caffeine level (so Robusta has much more Caffeine then Arabica). source

2 I'm British

Yes, I am running out of things to say now and it's getting very late so 🇬🇧

1 You should know me by now....

I've done so many of these things by now most Steemians must know more about me then any of my blood relatives do, thanks to @twodorks for creating such a fun challenge and to all the people who joined in so far and made such amazing fun posts.

I'm not going to specifically tag anyone, if you like the concept and are reading this just do a post - it's fun and a good way to share a post if nothing else.
