Well, the marathon thing was unexpected ;) I used to run more than now in previous years, starting 2013. My longest distance was about (but not exactly - I will never know) 16-18 km in about 112 minutes sometime last year. The mounted police came to me in the park a few minutes after, maybe I looked as if I were drunk or something.

The superpower thing was hard at first but then I remembered - teleportation or some other way of reaching places super fast. I need to go places, you know. More than one at a time.

Thank you for the invitation, I think I will join soon. Good luck and have fun!

That's a decent time @manoldonchev and I suspect the police came to see you for some moral support more than anything πŸ˜‰

Yea that's a good superpower to have! Would cut out the need for endless queueing and time wasted in transport.

Awesome! Looking forward to hearing more about you. Take your time with it. I was nominated a few weeks ago now to make the post so just chipped away at it. Catch you soon buddy!

I feel my soul is crying when I see that console getting dust. joking, lol :)
It's just that I'm still a gamer and a traveller addict and I do feel you saying that we lose too much time on these video games rather than doing something cool in our lives. But IMO, sometimes you are really not in the mood for anything except laying in a bed and playing some games before heading to sleep or on a rainy day. :)

Wow, I had no idea you are a doctor! And how could I miss it if you weren't doing this challenge? hehe. Love finding so many new things about people and I'm happy to know a doctor now, lol.

About that alcohol thing, I kind of feel you. To me, it wasn't the alcohol but smoking which made me stop before it was too late. Now I still have problems when my lungs stuck and I hardly can breathe normally again together with coughing every single day. Alcohol I don't drink at all, maybe just a cider once in a while. But just as you said, when it's about your health - it worth every single move.

I can't believe I'm one of those people who pronounced your name wrong in all this time! haha. Will keep in mind from now on. :D

It was a blast reading those things about you and even though I haven't said something about each one of them, I did read them all and really enjoyed doing it! Thanks for joining :)

Aha thought that the dusty console might have cast a dark cloud in your soul there! Well I replaced gaming with making music so it's not like I am not doing nothing at all. If I am having a really rainy day, I would watch some YouTube gamers but not for long.

Haha yep, just don't ask me for medical assistance though πŸ˜‚

I think the alcohol has probably had some effect on me but when you're 18-21 you really don't care what you do to yourself (generally) but as long as you stop living like that and try to be healthy it's got to be doing some benefits!

Haha yea it's funny when I tell people about my name, always blows people's minds! I confused a local FM radio DJ once when I told her how to say my name. She tried so many different ways on the air πŸ˜‚

Thanks for the invite to the challenge and glad you enjoyed learning a bit more about me! On the next πŸ˜€

I'm actually planing on starting to stream soon. But not on YouTube. Good to know though :D

Aha, where you streaming? Bittube?

Posted using Partiko Android

Most likely on Twitch :)

Hey cool challenge and nice to get to know you better through it. :) Checked out a few things on Soundcloud - and hilarious tale of the space cake adventure. See you around!

Hey @lilyraabe thank you and feel free to get involved with the challenge too if you haven't already! Would love to hear more about you! Glad you enjoyed the space cake adventure too haha

Dude you look like a teenager it is quite surprising. You look like a cheerful person who enjoys life to the fullest. I guess that is one secret to it. So sad to see that Xbox accumulating dust but I do hear ya priorities first. I also was a gaming addict back then and even played from dusk till dawn and skipped classes on a couple of occasions. Until I got caught lol. Anyway thanks for sharing awesome 10 random things bro. Stay cool and youthful lol.

Haha well thanks @watersnake101 I will give you the money later for that πŸ˜‚ it's like the curious case of Benjamin Button as people are saying I am looking younger each time they see me 😊

Yes I did feel a little more aged when I was in the high stress environment of sales (and bad company all round) but made me realise what's important and being happy is one of those things! I do exercise a fair amount just to keep the feelgood factor going.

I know, it was a tough choice on the xbox but she served me well. Still have some of the classic games on there from when I was growing up but it will probably stay there for a little while more until I get my music projects finished. It's like my own punishment Haha.

I know that one about spending hours non stop playing just being a boss at the game and competing in the league matches on COD. Yea maybe the odd class was skipped too but it was in the name of increasing my reaction times on computer games πŸ˜‚ (that's my excuse).

Thanks for the epic response, appreciate you stopping by! Hopefully you will do a 10 random things post too?

Very interesting stuff here man!
I knew you were around 30, but man I feel REALLY old now! haha
Also, as someone who didn't have a good experience the first time I smoked weed, I have a few comments. First, next time at home and in moderation! Edibles are way stronger than smoking, and harder to control the amount of high you get, so it was a tough way to try it out. Also the first few times you should be in a more controlled place with less interaction, it makes it much harder to function especially the first time, so being home and more comfortable is so much better. :)

Ah shit, sorry about that - call it "more experienced" haha.

I wouldn't have called it a bad experience, I mean, it was very much like being tipsy/drunk/tipsy/drunk but without feeling bloated from beer, with loads more giggles and then feeling REALLY hungry haha.

I was told that edibles give a stronger effect than smoking but I've never smoked anything in my life and don't want to have a negative effect with my asthma by inhaling smoke so went for the cake. But in Netherlands, it's all been tested and properly regulated ingredients so can trust it a bit more than some dodgy back street dealer.

But yea, going out of the coffee shop was not a good idea and I was happy to just chill there for a bit. Although I wouldn't have a story to tell so all's well that ends well haha.

Would I do it again.... hmmm jury is out on that one :)

Β  Β· Β 6 years agoΒ

Haha, yea, the effect is fun in the right situation, and being regulated is much better, unfortunately edibles where I am are dodgy because it's NOT regulated, so smoking is the option for now, haha.
But I understand with the asthma problem. Honestly if I could use edibles, I'd rather, maybe some day when it's legal here...

Yea I wouldn't have just gotten some from some dodgy street dealer. Netherlands have legalised weed for a few years now and they have properly regulated it and coffee shops (cafΓ©s) are free to sell it in their shops but the customers can't take it out on the streets so must consume it in the cafΓ©.

Such great facts! I am happy to have got to know you a little better! :D
I love your description of the cookie space trip ;D Haha, I wonder why only once, though! :P I just had half, actually. let's see what happens :)

Aha thanks for reading through them @frejafri! Glad you enjoyed the trip with me (see what I did there? πŸ˜€)

Why once? Hmm... πŸ€” good question! I think just to see what it was like really. I guess I like being alert and sober, aware of what's going on. Weed definitely does the opposite. Have a good high πŸ˜€

I did this "10 Random Things" a couple of months ago and it is good to see it is still making the rounds! It's always good to learn more about folks on the blockchain and in #steemitbloggers 😊

Hehehe awesome @thekittygirl! Thanks for taking the time to read through it. I never even heard of it until I was invited in but yea, actually quite enjoyed it considering I am quite introverted :)

Oh my you are going to really love New Zealand! There is so much nature to experience. I spent a few years there completing my education and I really miss it very much. I can't wait to go back there again! I am excited for you and your trip next year! I am going to start making plans for mine too. I hope to be able to let my kiddos experience nature at its best!

Hehe awesome, I can't wait to go there. It wasn't in my original plans but the more I think about it, the more stupid it sounds NOT to go, especially if I will be out in Australia anyway! That must have been an amazing place to do your education, kinda jealous haha.

Yes, definitely get your kids out in nature, there are some incredible National Parks around the world that must be explored! Maybe see you out there next year then :D

Oh my god, I want to be challenged as well!

It was so much fun reading your blog, especially the Amsterdam part. I also had my first weed at Bulldog Coffee Shop :D But I smoked it unlike you.

Sorry to hear about your struggles during PhD, but this is very much the reality in a lot of cases, only a few students can finish it in 3-4 years.

Anyway, I will listen to your music when I have extra time Dr. Havvy :)

Finally, if I had a superpower, it would probably be reading minds simply because I am just that curious.

Yes @haritakurdu go for it! Would love to find out more about you mate. Aha yes the famous Bulldog Coffee Shop, serving travelfeed community members haha :D

You're right about that, It was about 2 years in I was willing to give up but found something deep inside to keep going and I am not a quitter, especially when you get to call yourself a Dr for the rest of your life haha. Yea there was a bit of research but I took the character building element of it and that's what has carried me through.

Haha thanks for listening to the music mate and cool super power! I'm not sure I'd want to read minds as sometimes white lies are helpful but yea, guess there would be no hiding from the truth if you can read minds haha!

howdy sir nickyhavey! lol. this is a marvelous randomthing post, the best I've seen by far! Now I know how to pronounce your name too and all the photos are excellent so this is a superb job.

I didn't realize you are a distance runner, I was too but that was long ago, I only run about a mile at a time now. Doesn't your work schedule play havoc with your workout routine?

Anyway this is a wonderful, informative and funny post!

Hey hey it's the Lord Janton himself! Glad you enjoyed this random post man and yes, had to clear that one up about the pronunciation of Havey Haha.

Yea the runs have slowed down a bit now seeing as it's dark before I get to work and dark when I am out of work now. Do not like winter for running but I keep active with push ups situps and squats instead to tone up!

Thanks for the awesome comments as usual Lord Janton!

you're very welcome sir nicky and look at that! I just noticed you're almost to rep60! holy moly how'd you do that?

I'm impressed, you have been doing everything right obviously. I'm working 14 hours a day 7 days a week and I'm only at 56. lol. Anyway great job, you'll hit 60 soon which is a significant milestone, and all this while doing it part time, that's what amazing! That should be a good inspiration to people who can't work at it but just part time.

Yea that's been creeping up since dsound started upvoting my music posts the last few weeks which has probably really helped getting SP and rep up!

I don't know how it is worked out though mate. Been on steemit for 8 months but still not really sure about the dynamics Haha. Complex beast that it is.

I am probably more full time than I give myself credit for Lord Janton. Maybe around 3/4 time? Starting to pick and choose my platforms I am on as I am getting more in to blogging and music. Steemit seems to be a great help with the communities I am in like #steemitbloggers and just enjoying what I do.

howdy again sir nickyhavey! well it all seems to be coming together for you as far as steemit, I just hope our time is a good investment. I think it will turn out that way but it's still a gamble. Steemitbloggers is a very cool group isn't it?

It wasn't coming together for the first 6 months. In fact, I was probably a week away from leaving the platform until I found the travelfeed community and felt like I had some connection there.

Hang on in there Lord Janton! The steemit Bloggers is a great community and I am glad you convinced me, @jaynie and @zord16 are awesome

I'll hang in and keep plodding along. lol. yeah they're a great bunch, I'm glad you joined them! That was smart of you!

Sorry I am very late!! I thought you were only in your mid twenties! and can you recommend me a good headphone? I am currently looking for one that's convenient for running and wireless :-)

Thank you Dr @nickyhavey!

No dramas mate! Haha, I wish I was as wise in my 20s than I am now. Still got much to learn now of course.

As for the headphones, I don't know actually as I have wired over ear head phones from Phillips. Had them for years and... Well... They are well used but still work so I will keep them for now πŸ™‚

I did just Google "best running headphones" when I got these ones though so that's probably your best bet

Posted using Partiko Android

Don't worry. I think 20's is meant to teach us a lot lesson about life. But I certainly will never think you are in your 30. You look radiant!

Anyway, hmm.. I am just fed up with mid ranged priced head phones. They never last longer than a year.

Yes I think you have a good point there about learning in the twenties! Haha, thank you! I will strive to keep the radiant look for as long as possible :)

What type of headphones do you use then? In-ear ones or over-ear? My in-ear ones never really lasted as sweat would just get inside and ruin them. The over-ear ones have lasted me a while but they are wired. Still work though and took a little bit of getting used to but actually, pretty decent - I ordered the Phillips SHQ5200/10 back in Sept 2013.

Hmmm yeah, I am using the in-ear ones. They are easily ruined. I once had Audio technica ATH-M20X. They lasted until the wire twisted and eventually broken. I am not really good at having wired product. That is to say, I need a class on " How to roll cable properly".

I did have some in-ear sennheiser ones but yea, expensive to change... There are wireless over ear headphones around but might have to do a bit of research. It does depend what you are looking for. If you want noise cancellation, better sound and other things then the price begins to increase. Of course, if you look after them, they will last longer
