10 Truths, 1 Lie -- Revealing the Lie

Thanks to everyone for playing this fun game. It’s time for me to reveal the ONE lie.

The Challenge

My 11 Statements... The Truth and the Lie

#1. I traveled to China and walked on the Great Wall.

Yep, I sure did. My son studied in China for a year in college, so I visited him there. One of the many site we saw was the Great Wall of China. Sorry, #kiwideb and #barge, but I did walk on the most uneven steps I’ve ever seen. The Chinese evidently built the wall so that the enemy would be slowed down from the high then low steps.

#2. Once on a trail ride, the horse I was riding walked off a bridge because he was blind in one eye. We both took a dip in the muddy creek!

Sorry, @queenvick and @redheadpei. This really happened. The horse and I got soaking wet, and I lost my glasses but someone found them later in the creek.

#3. I was stung by bees twice in one day when I was pregnant then I fell down the basement stairs later the same day.

Well, well, is it this one? Nope! I was walking barefoot (and pregnant) in the yard and stepped on a bee, which stung me then I got stung by another bee, then later that day, I miscalculated (couldn’t see over my belly maybe!) and thought I was at the bottom of the stairs but there were three of four left. I fell down. My daughter was fine, don’t worry. Sorry, #lil-mich, #sweetjoy, #wanderlass, and #ashley4u.

#4. In high school I won a trip to Washington DC for writing an essay about rural electricity.

I’ve always loved writing and when our English teacher asked us to write an essay for the local rural electric company, I was on it. And I won! I had never been anywhere really, so the 10-day trip to the nation’s capital was a big deal for me! Sorry, @abdulazizganiyu.

#5. The longest I have lived in one house or apartment as an adult is 7 years.

@keciah, @keciah, @keciah. I’m sorry. This is true! I kind of like to move, and it’s true that 7 years is the longest I’ve lived in one place as an adult. I think I’m making up for living in the same house until I was 20!

#6. My hair started going gray in my thirties.

This is totally... true. I tried coloring my hair off and on for a few years but really hated doing it. Now I just let it go. I am going to look into getting some purple shampoo though! Sorry, @newbiegames!

#7. When I chew gum it makes me hungry (starving, like I haven’t eaten in a year).

Sorry, @white.tiger, but this is so true. If I chew gum, I feel like I haven’t eaten in forever. So, the only time I dare chew gum is right before I’m going to eat. Weirdo, that’s me!

#8. As a kid, I substituted for my brother when he had a ballgame and delivered papers on his paper route.

Yep, I did this. All. the. time. Well, mostly on Saturdays in the summers when my brother had a baseball game. He did pay me (a little bit) so that’s good. Sorry, @dizzyapple.

#9. I spun around on the ice in the middle of a city street with a cop right there but my car righted itself so I drove away. The cop didn’t stop me or do anything!

This is the only one that no one chose.

It is indeed true, and I was shaking all the way to work from my little spin on the ice, but I was fine. My car was fine. All was well. I don’t know what that cop was doing but it’s like he didn’t notice at all!

#10. I broke my big toe on my left foot when a horse stomped on it while I was brushing him.

DING DING, We Have a WINNER! This is the lie. I’ve never had a broken anything. @povoq guessed this (he’s the only one!), and he was the first one to comment and guess. So, when I saw his guess, at first I thought, "Oh, I’m a terrible liar," but since no one else guessed it, I was able to relax!

#11. I took a class in college that didn’t count toward my major, so I was 3 credits short of graduating. I talked the person at the college into letting it count so I could graduate.

@andysantics48, you really wouldn’t think the person would do this, would you? But they did! Luckily!

It was after I had completed all of my coursework and a few weeks before graduation! I think I might have cried. I don’t remember. But I was able to graduate and didn’t have to take another class or anything.
