@lyndsaybowes Forgive me, because I still don't understand the way the payouts work on Steemit. Why does ranchorelaxo, whom has a small following and not many posts have so much influence over price per post???

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling

    Because he has approx $3 million dollars invested in Steem power, giving him a greater say in reward distribution that someone with $10 invested.
