Terawatt LED is a project which leverages blockchain technology to help in the reduction of global lighting electricity consumption by 50 percent which is approximately 2000 Terawatts, with hopes to achieve this goal by 2035, while also increasing light output by 50 percent. Terawatt will also create a deflationary currency to compete which will have the potential to compete with FIAT and digital alternatives like Bitcoin, etherium etc. Upon success if this sector, terawatt aims to spread it's tentacles to other renewable sectors like Solar, Wind, Electric Vehicles after proof of concept is achieved with L.E.D.s.
HOW IT WORKS
Terawatt basically provides solution to the above discussed problem by creating a Degeneralised Autonomous Organization (DAO) and a deflationary Ethereum-based, private currency for global payments to promote the use of LED lighting. This Degeneralised Autonomous Organization (DAO) will be funded and used by utility companies, LED sellers, businesses, TeraWATT token holders, and energy customers around the world. Importantly, it will behave as a global mutual/insurance fund to make sure that business will have access to funding for subsidized LED sales to energy customers
The project will utilize Ethereum to issue and create tokens mainly because it has the base foundation that the technology will implement. Terawatt will take advantage the blockchain smart contracts. Terawatt token will be a standard ERC20 token with some specific modifications. It's algorithms will verify that the consumer has actually purchased the bulbs from a suitable seller and add the transaction to the blockchain. Smart contracts will execute and manage the entire process.
