I couldn't make it past his opening claim that his earliest memory is from the womb.
That said, I've seen him speak on some of these subjects before, so I don't think I need this particular interview.
First point: I have heard zero people say "I'm a mathematician and holy shit he's right." I have heard lots of people say "I don't understand what he's saying and I think he might be a super genius."
Second point: Several times in my life, I've spent time with someone whose claims (about their own accomplishments) I could not understand even after asking good questions about them. With one exception where the jury is still out, they have all turned out to be highly intelligent charlatans deliberately spouting technobabble in an effort to make people at least suspect levels of intelligence they had never encountered before.
Now, I'm not saying I understand everything. I'm saying I have yet to meet someone whose intelligence, or even expertise in a particular subject, is so far beyond mine that I can't even comprehend what they're saying, let alone evaluate whether it's true, unless they were highly skilled bullshitters aiming for this outcome. Again except for that one time, and in that case I'm still pretty sure, and the only reason I'm leaving room for doubt is that he had persuaded someone smarter than me.
Third point: If you have a revolutionary idea that's hard to understand but true, JRE is not where you take it. That's where you go if a) you're famous enough to get on the show, b) the audience you really want does not include mathematicians, and c) you want to be heard by people who want to believe outrageous things they don't understand.
Those aren't the only reasons to let Joe Rogan interview you - he's a pretty good interviewer with a very large following - but that is an ideal set of conditions.
Fourth point: What are the odds that the first-ever exception to this set of experiences will come from a Hollywood actor already known to have an ego so over-inflated that he let it tank his career?
Anyway the conclusion is he is full of shit. And I hate to say that because I like him as an actor, and he is just so damn cool. I like to believe the best about people in general, and have extra temptations when it comes to him for these reasons, but no. There can be no doubt he's very intelligent - you can't pull this off if you're not, and aren't likely to even try - but he's not 500 times smarter than you. He's not a giant-brained alien who deigned to stoop from his incomprehensible intellectual stature to become an actor.
He's a highly intelligent sociopath with a beautiful face and an enviable voice.
