Watch Tesla's Gigafactory Opening With Me Andrarchy

Well this is a weird one. I love watching the videos that Tesla releases and I think that they often contain a lot of actionable intel that many people ignore. People think that GAAP v. Non-GAAP accounting is the important stuff, but I often find that the subjective impressions one can get from listening to Musk and Straubel talk to be much more valuable.

This is only helped by the fact that they, Musk in particular, rarely prepare heavily for these events. Unlike Steve Jobs who refined his presentation meticulously, Musk and Straubel rely on their intimate understanding of the technical details to enable them to talk intelligently on the main points without necessarily memorizing every word. But a consequence of this is that they are too busy trying to articulate their points to craft any kind of facade, so we can gain a better insight into what they're really thinking and feeling.

Watching them speak I can tell whether they still believe in what they are doing, whether they are still passionate about their collective endeavor, or alternatively if there might be something they're hiding. This is just some of the stuff I think about while watching these videos, so I figured this time we could watch the video together and I would share my thoughts as we're watching it! I finish off the video by pointing out something that I felt was conspicuously missing from the presentation but that I think will be critically important for the company.
