Hi Friends!

Not gonna lie... the first time I sat in a Tesla, it kind of blew my mind. While I was in Austin, I got a text from my SO saying he bought a Tesla and we just went down to Seattle to pick it up yesterday. I was a little shocked at first, but super stoked to get the whole Tesla experience without personally having to pay for it. 😂

To say that Tesla is the way of the future would be a major understatement. I would totally recommend test driving one if you have the ability to, but be warned - it may ruin you for other cars!

Now that I unexpectedly have a Tesla (model S) at my disposal, I'm stoked to make some more Tesla content! I'm hoping to do a mix of cool photography with the car and video reviews of the many cool features. I'll have to start filming peoples reactions when they experience 0-60 in 3.5 seconds for the first time. It's like being on a roller coaster!

Lots of fun content coming soon - but for now, here are a couple shots of the car!

Rocking out to the surround sound system!

Have an awesome day and let me know if there are any specific videos you'd like to see! The self driving ability is one of the coolest things about this car. It handled great, even in the stop-and-go, congested traffic of Seattle.

XO, Lea

Whaaaaat?!?!?!??! This is amazing!
My post from yesterday actually worked!!!!!!

I'm so excited for you guys!!

OMG your article is amazing!!! hahah Josh and I just read through it. So good!!

Haha, thank you! I literally spent like 9 hours on that post yesterday, so I'm sure I was writing it at the exact same time you guys were driving it.

Woah the timing probably did line up! So crazy! 🤯

9 hours on a post is some serious commitment! Now you've got all that awesome info archived and whenever someone asks you why you are so interested in Tesla's, you can just shoot them the link! ;)

Teslas are great fun to drive and I have had the chance a few times now. Would love to get one.. but the price tag on Finland is as insane as insane mode. :P

Oh man I bet. No matter how you slice it - it's a big price tag! I can't wait until they have full autonomous driving and it's legal. There's a lot of talk of an upcoming Tesla rideshare service like Uber - expect no driver. So your car would be able to drop you off at work (or wherever) and drive around all day making you money, and then come pick you up. The technology is supposed to be here this fall - but I'm sure it will take a few years to work through all the legalities of it.

I had the good fortune of ridding in one in London with @weareunblocked and it blew my mind too. Enjoy the Tesla Lea.

Oh that's awesome! I'm not even much of a car person, but this thing is sick!

I saw this reviewed on top gear a while back.

There was a most amusing scene where the driver hussled some drag racers with that 0-60.

I saw one parked up in Reigate (my super wealthy old home town) last year - the one with winged doors (whatever you call them). They are cool things.

How much do they retail for these days?

How long have you got it for?

Yeah those winged doors are cool! The model he bought doesn't have that - I think only the SUV's do...but yeah it totally reminds me of Back to the Future. haha

They just came out with the Model 3 - which is about 35k new. He got a 2015 model S which was 92k brand new - but got it for 39 i believe. They usually sell for 45 - so he found a good deal.

I think he's going to drive it for a few years at least and then re-evaluate if he wants a newer model. The nice thing about the 2015 models is that they have free supercharging for life. I think they stopped offering that in 2017.

Those prices sound super cheap to me actually.

life time charging... that's a mistake, it reminds me of Paul Gautschi's truck - he's a permaculturist, actually I think he's in Washington State - he's got a 1950s Ford he's run for 38 years (after buying it from a neighbour who ran it for 28 years) with a lifetime warantee on parts that's done over a million miles. I think it might actually be cooler than the Tesla, in a totally different way. Any time anything breaks, the dealer has to replace it.

Woah that guy is a serious bad-ass!! So crazy!

Pretty cool!

I had a test drive on the model X and they are surely something next generation! I struggle with the price and will wait as I am more focus on going for longer trips in the short term. Look forward to seeing you enjoy it!

So cool you got to test drive the model X! Yeah the price is too rich for my blood right now too - which is why I'm stoked I get to just enjoy my boyfriends car. LOL

Super neat. Is the big SatNav screen standard in all Teslas?

I know they all have pretty big screens - but each model is a little different. The newer model 3 has a smaller screen than this one - but it is still super cool!

Hopefully I get to see one close up and personal at some point.

They are pretty awesome. I have no doubt they will be more commonly found on the road in the next few years. Especially since they are already starting to come out with cheaper models. The technology alone is just so far ahead of any of their competitors. Should be fun to watch!

I have only seen one in west Wales so far. Need to get a lot more charging stations out this way.

Yeah that’s definitely the biggest thing - the charging stations. Until they are nearly as common as gas stations, then mass adoption of electric cars will be challenging.

Right now at Tesla Supercharging stations, it only takes about 30 minutes to charge - but that is still much slower than simply filling up the tank. It will get there though!

What range can you get with a 30 minute charge?

About 270 miles. Not bad! I think a lot of other electric cars are only about 150. Hopefully in the next few years Tesla can make a battery with a 400 or 500 mile range. I think that would be awesome.

I know they all have pretty big screens - but each model is a little different. The newer model 3 has a smaller screen than this one - but it is still super cool!

Scott and I have a friend who has one and it is an amazing car! I would love to have one and make travel cheaper. Unfortunately, where we go there wouldn't be a place to plug it in!
Ren

Yeah the charging thing is super tricky! We live in an apartment and don't have a spot to charge either. Luckily in our town there are tons of free chargers everywhere - but they are kind of slow. Tesla has tons of supercharging stations around the country that can give a full charge in 30 minutes. We have one 15 minutes away from our house - so I have a feeling he'll be driving down there every few weeks to get a solid charge.

Oh that is fantastic! I would love to havean electric car, it would make the travel so much more affordable.

I have never even saw one in real life. I guess here in Europe that's not really a thing ehehe

I bet it won't be too long before it gets bigger over there! The technology in these things is crazy!

Beautiful.
It will be cool to have a good read on your Tesla share!

Thanks! I'll start compiling content and look forward to sharing!

With the increasing content on #Telsa, let's invite @Telsa to create an account and invest in #steem. More cool if we can begin to purchase Telsa cars and parts with #steem.

How do you see this @Coruscate?

I'm all about that! Anytime we can have a real-life use case for people utilizing their Steem is a good thing.

I do think that would be a pretty cool move for Tesla to start allowing at least partial payment in crypto. Would make .a big statement and would probably resonate well with their community. I think a lot of Tesla owners are also into crypto. At least it seems like there is a lot of overlap.

Didn't see it yet, but hope that in august at Moscow international auto salon it'll be possibility to take it for test drive.

Cool!😍🚗Tesla cars are finally invading Europe. It's easy to spot them frequently and I live in a small city. Keep posting about it!

Check out Jack Rickards YouTube channel. He provides information for Tesla owners for doing some repairs. According to him Tesla has very few approved repair shops, so their repair costs are currently astronomical. There are a few Tesla parts guys out there, but allegedly Tesla doesn't work well with people well who want to do their own repairs. Gotta be super careful not to get in an accident. I'd be curious about on what it takes to get insurance for it. Smooth process?

Yes!! Please report back on your experience! Congrats!

OMG @coruscate ! we were just talking about this car yesterday and how if I was ever going buy a new car for the first time in my life , the TESLA WOULD BE IT!! Absolutely love this car, you are Sooooooo Lucky!!!❤😎🚘
upped and resteemed

Mann, the rear look is awesome. I have heard a lot about the Tesla's torque availability from the word go (advantage of an electric vehicle) and seen many videos of Tesla ludicrous beating even supercars over a quarter mile. Amazing!

And look at the screen on the center console.

Since you asked, if you can post some videos of the interiors. That will be cool 😎!

Model S is my favourite of Tesla line up, too bad Italy is extremely behind in terms of charging stations! and VAT kills the price for Europeans too..
😕

You must have had an amazing time @coruscate!
Did you try autopilot too?

I’m interested in buying a model s myself. I’ve done a decent amount of research, and will only use it locally. Great article!
