Tesla Model 3 was first officially announced on 31th March 2016

It´s an all electric compact-sedan car for the mass market. There are currently more than 400,000 reservation holders.

The price for the Model 3 will be between 35,000$ up to 42,000+$ before applicable government incentives.

The final version of the car hasn´t been revealed, it´s supposed to be reavealed in July this year. Same month as production will start at the Tesla Fremont factory, if everything goes like planned. Tesla is known for expanding its timetables. The first cars should be delivered in the US around fall.

The car was spotted in public back in 2016 but also very frequently during the last weeks.
It is very likely that those versions are still not the final versions of the car, especially the interior looks a bit naked, and it´s not sure if it will stay this way, even though the M3 will be a very minimalistic car. Thoughts and feelings about the interior vary greatly.

The trunk seems small, but CEO Elon Musk confirmed that it´ll be big enough to fit a bike!!

Apart from the outside appearance, what is maybe even more important about a car is the inside. In the case of the M3 it´ll look something like this.

Worth mentioning is of course the autopilot hardware. It´ll be the same used in the newest versions of Model S and X. The hardware will allow full self-driving capability at a safety level (SAE Level 5) in the year 2018. To use the self-driving capability you´ll have to pay extra, it will not be in the standard version of the Model 3.

Most valuable about Tesla in general is it´s Supercharging network, which you will be able to use with your Model 3, even though you´ll have to pay for it after you used your yearly credit of 400 kWh (about 1,000 mi or 1,600 km) of supercharging.
Info to be found here or upon delivery: https://www.tesla.com/support/supercharging

Now I´m curious, how many of you got a Model 3 reservation? What do you expect? What do you wish for? What´s your place in the queue? :)

This weekend (3rd/4th of June), there was a VIP factory tour with some more information about the Model 3 for a chosen audience.
The offical final unveiling is supposed to be in July 2017, where all the rumors will be confirmed or dismissed. Only than we can be certain what to expect upon delivery.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing.

Gute Infos :)

Ja ich konnte bereits bei einem mitfahren. Das war vielleicht sexy^^
1 Jahr lieferzeit? Geht ja noch.
Heheh ja schön wärs :D

It is a very nice car but in Brasil not available.

Not now. Now it´s nowhere available ;) But hopefully it will come to your country too! Do you actually have electric cars in your country? Brasil is huge, I can imagine that most people don´t want an electric car because of the range anxiety :D

What I meant was that electrical cars are a non issue in Brasil. :-)
