It's no secret that US Tesla has been struggling with deadlines and inefficient production in recent months. It seems that the situation is somewhat better now, but according to Elon Musk, it is not exactly ideal. And the chief of the overseas company says that the guilt is mainly batteries.
"The serial production of Tesla electric cars is limited by the production of the batteries themselves," Elon Musk responded to a question about the models under preparation. Battery production is something Tesla can not influence. At the same time, Musk reminded that the introduction of world news and the beginning of serial production are two completely different points.
Musk also revealed priority companies for the near future. Namely, the Y model, roof solar panels, pick-up, Semi tractor and finally the new generation Roadster.
However, Tesla's boss reminds himself that he has priorities set on it, and that the products can be moved in different order into production. In addition to batteries, production has to rely on a number of other external suppliers who can complicate the production of one or the other.
One of Twitter users has also spurred the idea of a Sprinter-style electric supply. And the company leader has been told that something like that is not entirely ruled out. "We can get components from Daimler to build a car earlier, or process it all by yourself and put it in later," Musk outlined the possibilities of partnership with a German company.
