This is my entry for colourfulphotography contest hosted by @juliank.
For Chinese people, the God of Wealth and Fortune(Cai Shen) is one of the important Gods to be invited into their house during the Chinese New Year. During the night of Chinese New Year, Friday 16th February, I was driving along the small side streets just before midnight. To my surprise, I saw many houses seting up a table full of fruits, flowers, candles and incense right in front of several houses. These were Chinese people performing a ceremony to invite the God of Wealth to come into their houses and give them blessings before midnight. Some houses had really big candles with bright flame to attract the attention of the God of Wealth!
ไฉ่ซิงเอี๊ยเป็นเทพเจ้าแห่งความรํ่ารวยมั่งคั่ง ที่คนจีนส่วนใหญ่จะต้องไหว้ในช่วงวันตรุษจีน เพื่อขอพรให้มีโชคลาภและมีเงินมีทองในปีใหม่นี้ ตอนคืนวันศุกร์ที่แล้วซึ่งเป็นวันตรุษจีน เราตั้งใจขับรถผ่านไปในซอยเล็กๆที่มีร้านคนจีนหลายร้าน ก็ได้เห็นหลายๆบ้านเปิดประตูหน้าบ้าน มีโต๊ะบูชาจัดตั้งผลไม้ ดอกไม้ ธูปและเทียนและเปิดไฟสว่าง บางบ้านใช้เทียนเล่มใหญ่มากเปลวเทียนลุกโชติช่วงเลย ต่างคนต่างพยายามเชิญ ไฉ่ซิงเอี๊ย ให้มาแวะที่บ้านของตนเองและให้พรสัหรับปีใหม่ เราก็ขอสวดมนต์อาราธนาให้ท่านช่วยแวะให้พรเราด้าย เพราะเราขับรถผ่านพอดี เราไม่กล้าจอดรถแล้วลงไปขอแจมจุดธูปไห้วด้วยคน ก็ขับรถผ่านไปช้าๆ เพื่อตามรับพรไปด้วยก็แล้วกัน
