Pattaya vs Angeles City - Bars, Food, Sex, Costs and More

After recently visiting both Angeles City, Philippines and Pattaya, Thailand, there are definite positives and negatives for each location, so here I'll highlight some things that I think may be important in helping you make a decision as to which one to go to first - although I would highly suggest visiting both!

The Girls

There was quite a bit of difference in the girls as you would expect, but again some goods and bad's to think about.

I found that in general the Thai girls were more attractive, but the Filipina girls were bit more playful in general. In either place you can invest the time checking out several bars/clubs and eventually you will find that drop dead gorgeous girl that you simply have to pursue, so don't think I'm saying the Filipina girls were not attractive!

You can see in my YouTube channel videos that I certainly found some stunners in both cities.

I never felt like I was being "appraised" by the bar girls in Angeles City, whereas in Pattaya and Bangkok I often felt like I was being "judged" by the A Go Go girls. But it also depends on the type of bar you're in, so make sure to read this content.

At 40+ years old with bit of a beer gut, there is no where to hide, so while not trying to be too paranoid, the Filipino girls seemed a bit more accepting of someone my age than the Thai girls.

If you're a young stud, then so much better in both locations.

Language

No doubt about it, if you speak English, you'll get along better in the Philippines because they learn English in grade school.

Now having said that, I interacted with some Filipino girls who only had broken English while also interacting with some Thai girls who had superb English.

Again I'm making a generalist statement here.

I found that I got along much better with a girl who did speak good English. They get your jokes, they can joke back and in general I had a better time in that situation. If, however you're only interested in the sex and don't want to chat, than it doesn't really matter as they all know what you're there for.

Costs

Ok, here is where I found a BIG difference! First you have the exchange rate to consider, then the bar fines (+ girl fees) in the case of Thailand.

At the time of my travels the exchange rate was far better in the Philippines than in Thailand, but this fluctuates all the time and is not something you're in control of.

Tip - One piece of advice is if you know you are definitely going overseas at some point in the future, then keep an eye on the exchange rates and if you see a good rate, then go buy some foreign money ahead of time.

So in Angeles you would usually pay the bar fine (quoted bar fines ranged from $2500 $4000 pesos) to the bar manager or mamasan and that included the cost for the girl for a "long time" stay which is usually over night.

In Pattaya and Bangkok, the bar fines were quoted between $1000 and $1500 baht, but then the girls wanted another $3000 baht on top of that for a long time visit. I heard some people say they were quoted up to $6000 baht for long time with the ultra stunners, but I did not experience this myself. Probably because I didn't chase the ultra stunners.

Remember, everything is negotiable...;)

Short time (usually 1 hour in Patayya and 2-3 hours in Angeles) would be a bit cheaper but not reduced drastically. Some bars even have rooms above the bar so you can grab a girl, have a shower/sex/shower and never leave the building! Short-time quotes were $1500 pesos in Angeles and $2500 baht (includes bar fine and girls fee).

Some bars even have hotel rooms above the bar, so you can stay right in the middle of the action! And some hotels have bars in them, so do your research or sign up for my e-guide book.

Drinks/Alcohol

If you enjoy your alcohol, then the Philippines wins hands down cost-wise. Booze in Thailand was not that cheap comparatively.

A word about ladies drinks - when you buy girl a ladies drink she makes money from it, so you can win a lot of points simply by buying a few rounds of drinks.

Tip - you will be inundated by other girls, waitresses and "friends", who also want you to buy them a drink. Be firm and say no unless you're feeling generous even when they make these dramatic sad faces.

I found in Angeles City the girls tended to prefer premixed drinks, whereas in Pattaya and Bangkok the go to request was either a tequila shot or a rose tequila shot, and in Manila they asked for tequila shots as well.

Ring the Bell - Most bars have a large bell hanging somewhere with a sign stating to "Ring the Bell and buy all girls a drink"

Be careful with this one as you'll find if you ring the bell lots of extra girls seem to come out of the woodwork...some bells limit the cost at say $4000 pesos or Baht, so again be careful trying to be the big player and impressing everyone.

Food

Foodwise, the basic street food in Pattaya blows away the street food in Angeles City, so if you're a bit of a foody, that is definitely something to consider.

Costs range from a couple of dollars (or less) for street food to middle of the road cafe and bar style (burgers, salads etc) food to high end restaurants at glitzy hotels in Pattaya.

Of course there was Sizzler, McDonalds, etc in Pattaya as well.

There were no high-end, fancy restaurants in Angeles (our fancy hotel did have a semi-fancy restaurant but we only had breakfast there) that I saw but we were only there for 4 days.

In Makati, Manila, there are all the great American chains like TGI Fridays and I HOP, so you can always stuff your gob there.

Sex

While I had some great experiences in Angeles, I had one of the best fucks in my young life in Bangkok, but this is really like throwing the dice. I had mediocre experiences in both places as well.

Tip - One thing to be aware of, if you just bar fine 2 or more girls and expect a wild orgy, you've got another thing coming!

The girls will disappear into the bathroom and only come out one at a time, so it's a truly bizarre experience. The advice I was given, is if you're keen on a threesome or moresome, ask the mamasan or manager which girls are willing to play together then double check with the girls to confirm this is true.

Also, if you want specific experiences in bed, you MUST ask the girl about this BEFORE you take them out of the bar. Things like anal sex are not just "part of the deal", so don't be afraid to ask these girls about exactly what they will and won't do, and move on the next girl/bar until you find the perfect fit for you.

It can seem pretty embarrassing in the beginning, but you need to remember these girls are there for one reason - money - and they know what they have to do to get it. Also understand both of these cultures attitude towards sex tourism are so COMPLETELY different compared to standard western cultures, and sex workers are not looked down on - they are just part of the ecosystem.

Also realize these girls have been exposed to this since they were very young, and they've probably seen and done things you could only imagine.

We guestimated that there must be 4000+ girls in Angeles on any given night while the number in Pattaya would have to be 4-5 times that based on the number of bars and massage parlors, so there is no reason to think you can't find a better option in another bar.

Runners

This is something that can be very frustrating when you've paid for a long time (overnight stay) and they leave early - and I learned this the hard way.

There are a couple different kind of runners, but most commonly the girls will complete the business in bed, then mysteriously they'll get a text or start to pack up their things immediately after.

Excuses range from "I have my sister's door key, so have to go now" to any other number of excuses they will come up with.

Again my mistake was not guaranteeing their intentions way back before we left the bar. If you just ask for long time they'll probably say yes, but may change their mind or simply lie to you.

Make sure to say exactly what you want; ie "I want you to stay long time and leave tomorrow at 8am."

I got really pissed of the second time it happened but there is nothing you can do really. Try and create a good atmosphere in the room and have some fun. There are a number of suggestions in the e-guide book for tips on how to make that happen.
