Thai Abandonment

I have only ever lived in two cities in this fine country but one thing that seems to be universal here is that there is constant construction. I've always said that "this will be a wonderful country once they are done building it." They are never going to achieve that goal :)

In my own neighborhood there is bound to be 5 or 6 houses being built at all times and this continues to extend well to the outskirts of just my little community. This is also the case in every other subdivision in the area and I presume all other areas as well.

The thing that gets me is that there is so much existing property that isn't being used.

There's nothing wrong with either one of those houses is there? They are just neglected and left to rot

This corner lot is something I walk past every day. Certainly this could be used by someone for something.

This would result in a lawsuit in America. I checked the switches, it is a live electrical box with definitely enough power to kills some babies.... and it is in the center of a park, really close to the playground.

It is just sad to me I guess. We have all this money being spent on new stuff that is sitting within sight of the old stuff that is just falling apart.

yeah bro, there are places like this all over Chiang Mai. It doesn't stop them from building more and more and more. Of course there could be a lot more too it than just that. These might be houses for people that only live here part of the year... That one unit with the cement chairs in the yard look like a likely candidate for that since the rest of the propery actually looks pretty well-maintained.

well perhaps it is like this everywhere in the world. There are plenty of places to live already but people are always building new. Since these buildings are made of cement the construction is particularly annoying because of the power drills that fire up at 6am or something crazy like that. I guess it is my neighborhood alarm clock.
