This type of post is not really my style, but I think it was going to be inevitable at some point. It’s time to actually say a real thank you to a few fine people out there who have supported me in various ways, from my early days on steemit and made my time here a rewarding, fun and enjoyable experience. And by that, I really mean the early days of me blogging! The reason why I feel the time is right now, is because I recently powered up to what many see as a first real milestone on steemit. If it wasn’t for these loyal supporters of my blog, I never would have reached the 500SP mark! I suppose it’s not really such a big deal, but it’s worth the time to share and acknowledge this small achievement with you all (even my fake followers).😂😛
Of course, in reaching the 500SP level, steemit gives you access to a vote slider feature that allows you to adjust your vote accordingly to whatever percentage you like, before upvoting a post or comment. Since getting access to this myself, I’ve had a lot of fun with my new toy, by taking it for a spin around the block a few times. I got so infatuated with my slider, that I found myself extending my appreciation depending on how excited I got with a particular post or comment…I really have no idea why people say you can go blind, as everything seems to be quite normal after using this feature…No blurred vision or side effects at all! Well, maybe just a little cross-eyed.😜
Ok, so let’s start this jerk fest with some mention tagging, thank you-virtue signalling and #VDS action first:). After getting that out of the way, we can then get into some more detail about how we got to this point and some highlights along the way! To the uninitiated, the acronym VDS was first coined in a post I wrote called My Journey So Far and The 10 Signs that a Steemit Account is ‘Fake’, and has since reared its ugly head on occasion, amongst some of the circle of friends that I will be mentioning in this post. Yep, It’s definitely going to be one ‘Mother of All Virtual Dick Sucking Posts’ (MOA-VDS), so take cover!!!
To begin appreciation day, we’ll start at the very top and acknowledge that at least 80% of the value of my account is directly attributable to the friendly and generous whale in @v4vapid. He really does a great job of rewarding valuable and good quality content amongst the list of accounts he follows on a regular and consistent basis. You’d think I caught his attention due to some masterpiece in political philosophy or discourse, right? Nope! You’d be wrong on that one, but a good assumption nevertheless:) It actually started from a blog post on Targeted Flagging of Posts and Comments. So as you can see, he is also a big proponent and defender of the steem blockchain. From that point in time, he has consistently supported any of the work I produced, that he considered as good quality. I hope I’m adding value to your initiatives…so to you, a very big thank you and I really appreciate all the support!
Now that we have the big one out of the way, let’s move on to the group of regular, individual supporters who showed me the way through their words of encouragement, moral support, friendly interactions, banter and of course rewards through their voting power from early on. Who do I speak of? Well let’s get @ginabot to do her thing, and summon them all to this thank you-virtue signalling party…
@amariespeaks, @bifilarcoil, @cattledog, @danielshortell (MIA), @geke, @perceptualflaws, @pretty.dorky, @shepz1 (deliberator), and @sift666.
These are the people who I would consider my rock supporters, so this is a big thank you to you all! You are all amazing in your own way, and thanks for everything…let’s keep rock-ing!
I’m not sure if it’s my paranoia or just my conspiratorial mind, but this list seems to have an interesting pattern to it, don’t you think? All I can say is, the ugliest mother fucker on that list is mentioned in last place!!! Now that’s a slap in the face…
Without listing any more names here, there are definitely some other cool people who have shown support in more recent times and in various ways themselves. Thanks to you also, you know who you are:)
Well it seems that things may be a little skewed and out of balance here with all the #VDS action. So to all the ladies mentioned in this post, there is always a solution to every problem!
Let’s just say that my vote slider malfunctioned, and went a little haywire here!
Now just a little about how I got started, and how things evolved for me on steemit.
My profile page states that I joined in September 2017, but after signing up, I completely forgot that I did so and left the account completely dormant until January of this year.
For the first 3 months of my steemit life/experience, I started off as a little spambot by constantly commenting in a circle of politically themed posts…I was everywhere! I’m sure a lot of people were thinking, who the hell is this guy with no blog posts to his name, and 10 resteems per day? Let’s be honest, I had no idea what I was doing, or the big picture/actual concept of what the steem blockchain was all about, and I basically kept to myself as a consumer of content. The fact that I also had an anonymous account, couldn’t have helped my cause and feeling that I was some type of spam bot.
From there, I made the huge jump into transitioning from a spambot commenter, and added shitposting political memes on dmania, to my complex and advanced repertoire (was still resteeming 10 posts per day lol).
Greek Easter April 2018
For some reason, I found the inspiration on this day do make what I would call my first ever ‘blog post’. It was definitely a nerve-racking feeling to press that post button that evening!
Introducing myself
Not long after, I was invited to write a #steemitnamechallenge post. So I took this opportunity to also introduce myself officially on the blockchain, at the same time.
My first big moment – That winning feeling
I think it’s fair to say, that the biggest or most important moment in my steemit life to this day, was when I took out the Tin Foil Raps contest! It was absolutely huge at the time, since I was quite new to blogging on here.
Deep Dives Research Challenge
After the original success in the Tin Foil Raps Contest, I found the motivation and impetus to start blogging somewhat more regularly. Then @v4vapid started a new initiative named the Deep Dives Research Challenge. Well lucky for me, I decided to have a stab at the inaugural challenge and managed to scrape together a winning entry! Woot! I also had the good fortune of taking out the latest challenge which was announced just the other day. Here is my latest winning entry.
Oops, this post started to get a little too egotistical and serious right there! Let’s go back a step!
Just the other day, one of my steemit friends complained that my blog had become over-political and ‘less fun’. Well after looking at my time line recently, I would have to agree somewhat! Well, I hope this satisfies that disgruntled follower and lives up to their standards of ‘fun’.
So in that case, I will also leave some links of some fun posts I have written over the last few months.

I understand that these links are just a bunch old posts. The real point of putting the links in here is to remind myself and my loyal supporters, of the fun times we all had in the comments section of these posts. That’s the real point here….Skip the posts and go to the comments section….that’s what I did when reviewing these posts!
Ok, now that I have reached that 500SP mark my next goal is a really big jump from here. I’m thinking and dreaming big…no point in aiming low now is there?
Gotta get that Lambo that everyone in the crypto world keeps screaming about?…I mean if we don’t get it soon, time will fly past and you’ll end up here, right?
pun intended ;-)
congratulations my friend on hitting 500SP! hilariously special VDS post with just the right amount of sass (as usual)

Glad to see a light-hearted post from you again. From that first Greek Easter post, I said write, write because you are obviously smart and a good writer. I hadn’t known about your political interests back then, sooo since then, you’ve enlightened me with some political posts. A topic I’m not known for reading on here. At least you’re writing.
You’re also a very much bad influence to me. I had no idea what VDS meant until I happened across your post. Lol, I even wrote one myself. See what you did. I was such a nice bee before you.
Big congrats to reaching the milestone by earning the SP. I finally reached 500 SP myself but probably half of my SP is through investment. Perhaps I will make a celebratory post when I reach 1k SP because that would be a true indicator of earning that 500 SP mark. 😁 Good job pk.

Thanks V...The deep Dives Research is right up my alley, for sure! It's basically something we all did in our spare time out of interest anyway, so how cool is it that we now have the opportunity to share this information amongst a like minded group of individuals, while also earning a little pocket money on the side...pretty damn sweet:)
Haha, as soon as I saw that GIF, I knew it was going to be perfect for this post:) Here is where that GIF comes from...

Mega Congrats! That 500 seems light years away to me. Glad I am not the only one who takes forever to get around to the posting part.
All the fun really is in the comments after all.
I have had a couple successful post but am mostly too all over the place with topics.
Besides I learn the most interesting bits in comments. Like how you are the culprit who is responsible for the corruption of my favorite goody two shoes. To think this whole time I imagined it was Dooms who was to blame.
Posting is a necessary evil. Comment section is where we learn the rest of the story.
Seems like one of the biggest factors in your success was doing posts for an existing community, makes sense. Maybe if I tidy up the time line like you did I will score myself a handy dandy slider in this decade.
I think your greatest achievement could be bringing VDS to the masses. What a legacy.

Ty so much @headchange! Thanks for stopping by and leaving this cool comment:) Actually the deep dives community started after we arrived. It just happened to fit in with my interests in geopolitics and other associated topics that intersect within that sphere. That's what it's all about really...write about where your interests lie and hopefully the support will come knocking. It's definitely not as easy as some make it out to be though!
Meeting good people is the most important part of it all to me though:)
LOL😁😜

Honestly I will probably never get around to doing a deep dive. It did peek my interest for a moment because I have been known to spend hours going through a database of declassified documents.
Writing about it would just justify the time spent being nosy. 🌝
The trouble with making a really great post is the expiration date. I have managed to pull off a couple masterpieces even got some decent votes and engagement. Sad that kind of thing is not emblazoned on the top of my blog forever more. 🏆
Seriously though if we ever have the ability to make evergreen content the site would skyrocket.
The way it stands that is only a sustainable option if we are wanting to redirect to our own off site projects. It is there in Google but not very useful for our personal growth on the platform.
I predict another mass exodus from You Tube. The drama is heating up over there again. But they will just spend more time on Twitch. Last time I checked Steemit is still a bit clunky with video.
Agreed! I am having way too much fun to get all serious about account growth. Steemit is more fun played like a game with rep and SP as scoring points. I will likely just come up with some play money to buy SP.
Sounds a bit like cheating but I always did rosebud my Simms🌹

I did that for years before I got here, in my own spare time!
I agree. Hopefully projects like these can take off, and make steem more user friendly!

Loving the giphs. Lol. In regards to reminding people about the fun times you had in comments.. I have always found that when writing a post that it's almost like setting a table to invite folks by a bite and a chat. Of course we all want votes, followers, and the like. But one of the rather neat aspects of this platform is the amount of engagement one gets by simply sharing an opinion. The added ability to monetize that opinion tends to lead to relatively decent behavior as well. People are nice/polite in short. Enjoyed the read and up voted as well as resteemed. :)
