I joined Steemit way back in January 2017 after finding out about it in some random web surfing moment to do with Bitcoin (weird huh, nothing to do with Bitcoin really but there it was staring at me in Google).
I was getting pretty bored with Twitter and Facebook at the time, and to discover this new social media concept that actually rewarded its contributors for being part of what makes it… Wow, such a groundbreaking idea, share the wealth with those who actually produce it.
I had to become a part of that. Steemit had layed out the welcome mat to those who wanted aboard.... Uh YES please!
Here I am after not quite 6 months and I have 2251 awesome followers who see a value in what I share. Recently I did a massive follow blast to get a decent number posts into my feed to chose from (I am now following over 36,400 accounts so it is quite likely that I am following you already) My reasoning was that hopefully I would receive some following back and content upvotes in return…I was right, karma returned a great many followers and upvotes to my little spot in the Steemit community. (For now I am just a little spot, but that will change).
Lately I have mostly been resteeming content that I like and that I believe needs to get more visibility, including newly created posts and posts from my feed, also upvoting a lot and giving my full 100% upvote always when I vote. My vote isn’t worth much but when I vote you get the full 100% not a 1% or %5 or even %50… You a full 100% of my vote share.
Our kitty Betty was in a horrific accident recently, so that has taken my attention away from writing, but I will be back it. Steemit has given me a chance to play in the cyber currency world…and this is essentially for free.
I now have very small holdings in STEEM, SBD, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Lightcoin, and Dash. Steemit allowed me do this. My followers and those who upvote my posts have allowed me to do this… THANK YOU!
Instead of posting on the other social media I post here first, then respost some links to Steemit posts on my other social media, this helps me, it helps Steemit and it helps those who I choose post about too. Win… Win… Win. No losers.

Thank you most inspiring, it sure is a roller coaster at first trying to get your head round it all. Today was a blue day because I was panicing about not doing it right and not grasping how you get your steem $ into Bittex to cash up. I am just about to move house and I needed the cash for removal's been in sheer panic. I can't seem to get anyone to talk to me.

You don't even have to use Bittrex, There are many. I have been using https://www.blocktrades.us They take STEEM and SBD and trade to a few different 'tokens' and put the resuting trade into an off exchange wallet. For that I'm using Exodus, it's easy to use and i can see full overall portfolio balance at a glance. I'm not hot for trading, I like the idea of holding, I'm happy so far. It is all made possible because of Steemit, my upvoters and of course my followers. I hope your move went well or is going well.

I joined because I was interested in cryptocurrency (Max Keiser first got my interest in Bitcoin), and yes, now I too have a few small holdings.

Crypto currency seems to have bought a lot us here, then we find it is so much better than the old social media that give back nothing except maybe ads. Steemit is well amazing, there is so much great stuff on here, and mostly in a positive frameset too.
Hold on to you small holdings don't risk losing out by trading unless you don't really mind possible losses. So long as the total is at least what I put in I'm happy.

congratulations! Please do follow me better about a week and I'm not doing too bad on followers but I love to have you too! I only wish I'd started on this a lot earlier than I did! But that's true of crypto as well I guess. I got started by buying a little bit a burst coin and then it just branched and branched. From your diverse portfolio of coin eyes with think the same things happened with you. I think it would take a great deal of self-control to limit oneself to be coin and a theory in, though certainly that is a wise thing to do. But if I had as much wisdom as I have age I'd be wise. Good luck I'll keep watching your stuff I have been following you for at least a few days.
